Mederos was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake before Monday's game against the Rangers.

Mederos is in line for another chance in the major leagues after making one appearance earlier in the season. He surrendered two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings April 25 against the Twins and will join the club in Los Angeles after it was reported that Hunter Strickland (shoulder) will require a stint on the 15-day injured list.

Strickland was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right shoulder inflammation.

Strickland tossed a scoreless frame and registered a strikeout in Sunday's series finale against the Blue Jays, so it's unclear as to when this issue may have flared up. Victor Mederos was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

O'Hoppe isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

O'Hoppe appears poised for a regularly-scheduled day off after making four consecutive starts for the Angels. Travis d'Arnaud will get the call behind the dish and bat eighth in O'Hoppe's place Monday.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Santander (shoulder) has not resumed hitting but could do so "hopefully soon," Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Santander's progress from a left shoulder subluxation has been slow, as he's already missed nearly six weeks of action and still isn't ready to swing a bat. Once cleared to swing, Santander will need time to ramp things back up and is sure to require a rehab assignment before being activated. He is not eligible to return until late July after being shifted to the 60-day injured list last week.

Varsho (hamstring) ran the bases Monday and will do so again Wednesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Varsho should be cleared to begin a rehab assignment after that, although the Blue Jays have not yet confirmed as much. The outfielder had a setback with his left hamstring in late June, but he has progressed well since then and could be back at the start of the second half, or shortly after.

The Red Sox announced that Crawford (knee) underwent successful surgery Thursday to reconstruct the stabilizing sheath of the extensor carpi ulnaris in his right wrist, MLB.com reports.

Initially placed on the injured list before Opening Day due to right patellar tendiopathy, Crawford had advanced to pitching in simulated games in May before plans to send him out on a minor-league rehab assignment were tabled in early June due to right wrist pain. According to Sean McAdam of MassLive.com, manager Alex Cora said June 25 that Crawford sustained the wrist injury in an off-field "accident," but the skipper didn't go into any further details beyond noting that it wasn't due to any irresponsibility on the right-hander's part. Cora said that Crawford's season is "most likely" over as a result of his surgery, so the 29-year-old will turn his focus to returning to full health heading into spring training. Crawford entered arbitration for the first time last winter and is under club control through the 2028 season.

White Sox general manager Chris Getz said Monday that Martin (forearm) will head out on a minor-league rehab assignment later this week, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.

While Martin won't be ready to return from the 15-day injured list until after the All-Star break, he may need just one or two starts in the minors to build back up after he was initially shelved June 20 due to a right forearm strain. The club revealed that the tentative plan is for Martin to pitch Wednesday and Sunday for Triple-A Charlotte, per Scott Merkin of MLB.com. Before getting hurt, Martin had been pitching effectively for Chicago, covering at least six innings in six straight starts while submitting a 3.55 ERA and 1.03 WHIP.

Schneider is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Schneider will hit the bench for the series opener in Chicago after he had started in each of the past seven games while going 7-for-22 with two home runs, one double, one walk, five runs and four RBI. With Andres Gimenez (ankle) recently joining Daulton Varsho (hamstring) and Anthony Santander (shoulder) on the injured list, Schneider will likely be in store for at least a semi-regular role with Toronto until the team reclaims some health.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Monday that Bregman (quadriceps) will be activated from the 10-day injured list "sooner rather than later," Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

According to Cora, Bregman "feels great" and will go through "heavy" workouts Monday and Tuesday. Cora did not rule out Bregman being activated later this week during the team's series against the Rays, but a lot will depend on how the third baseman bounces back from Monday's and Tuesday's workouts. Bregman has been sidelined since late May due to a strained right quad.

White Sox general manager Chris Getz said Monday that Robert (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list within the next couple days, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Robert is eligible for reinstatement at any time, and the White Sox could add him back to the 26-man active roster at some point during the team's series against the Blue Jays that runs through Wednesday. He's been out since late May with a left hamstring strain, but Robert has been running for a few days and appears likely to bypass a rehab assignment.
