Moncada (hand) will start at third base and bat sixth Wednesday against the Rangers, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Moncada missed three consecutive starts after getting hit on his right hand by a pitch Saturday, though he entered Tuesday's game off the bench and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored. He'll now rejoin the starting nine for Wednesday's series finale and aim to turn things around after going 3-for-19 at the plate to begin the second half.

The Pirates traded Ferguson to the Mariners on Wednesday in exchange for Jeter Martinez, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Ferguson signed a one-year contract with the Pirates in January after spending the 2024 season with the Astros and Yankees. The 29-year-old southpaw has and 3.74 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 34:14 K:BB across 43.1 innings this season. Ferguson boasts the lowest hard-hit rate the majors (25.2 percent ) and has given up just one home run this season, and he'll give the Mariners a reliable setup man out of the bullpen.

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Goldschmidt has faded into more of a part-time role of late, as he'll hit the bench for the fourth time in the Yankees' last seven matchups with a right-handed starting pitcher. Ben Rice will get the call at first base Wednesday while the Rays send righty Zack Littell to the hill.

Jones (back) started in right field and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's 7-3 loss to Nashville on Tuesday.

Jones was out of action for four days due to back spasms but didn't miss a beat in his return to the lineup, contributing his 19th extra-base hit in 20 games with the Triple-A club. With a 1.399 OPS since receiving a promotion to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre from Double-A Somerset on June 27, Jones is making a compelling case for a big-league call-up, but the Yankees don't have an obvious spot for him in their crowded outfield, even while Aaron Judge (elbow) is on the injured list.

Rogers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Rogers started the Wednesday matinee, giving Dillon Dingler a day off, and the former delivered his third home run of the season. While it's been a struggle for Rogers overall in 2025, he's at least showing some signs of life lately with at least one hit in his last three starts and two homers over that span. The catcher did slug 21 home runs as recently as 2023, so the power potential is there, but Rogers should remain firmly behind Dingler on Detroit's depth chart.

Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

After missing about a month of action due to a hamstring strain, Carpenter returned Sunday and popped his first home run in his third game back Wednesday. For the season, the 27-year-old now has 17 long balls, and he was heating up before getting hurt with three homers in his last five games leading into his IL stint. Carpenter still sits frequently against southpaws, but he remains a dangerous hitter when facing righties, posting an .834 OPS in those matchups this year.

Fortes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Acquired from the Marlins earlier this week, Fortes made his Rays debut in Tuesday's 12-2 win, starting behind the dish while going 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Though he'll have a clearer path to playing time in Tampa Bay after Agustin Ramirez had overtaken him as the top backstop in Miami prior to the trade, Fortes may still find himself in a timeshare at catcher with Matt Thaiss, who gets the start Wednesday.

Cano (1-6) was charged with the loss in Wednesday's 9-8 defeat to the Blue Jays, allowing five runs on four hits and no walks with no strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning.

The five runs allowed were a season high for Cano, who served up a home run for the first time since his June 18 outing in Tampa Bay. Although closer Felix Bautista (shoulder) is on the shelf and Seranthony Dominguez has been traded away, Wednesday's showing doesn't bode well for the possibility of Cano receiving future save opportunities. Since the start of May, Cano has a dreadful 7.22 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB covering 28.2 innings.

Keith went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Batting leadoff, Keith did an excellent job setting the table before getting lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth inning. Prior to then, the young infielder delivered his third three-hit effort of the season, all of which have come this month. The Tigers are rumored to be exploring third basemen leading up to Thursday's trade deadline, which would impact Keith's role, but for now he's the team's top option at the hot corner, at least against righties.

Baker (calf) struck out one batter over a perfect inning of relief in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees.

Baker suffered a right calf strain during his most recent appearance Saturday against the Reds, but he was able to avoid a trip to the injured list and was sharp in his return to the mound three days later. Since being acquired from the Orioles on July 10, Baker has collected two holds and has permitted six earned runs on four hits and four walks over 5.2 innings.
