Carpenter went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Phillies.

Carpenter launched his 18th home run of the season in the third inning before eventually getting lifted for a pinch hitter in the seventh. The 27-year-old now has five long balls across his last 10 games, though that span also includes about a month on the injured list due to a strained hamstring. Assuming Carpenter can stay healthy, he appears primed to finish the year on a high note and likely surpass his career high of 20 home runs, which he recorded back in 2023.

Torres went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Phillies.

Torres has started August with home runs on consecutive days to get to 13 long balls for the season. The veteran has been on a more extended power binge with four home runs over his last six games. Torres offers good pop for a middle infielder, and he also has a strong .277/.374/.433 slash line across 99 games in what's been a productive debut campaign with the Tigers.

Vest worked the eighth inning of Saturday's 7-5 win over the Phillies and allowed two runs on three hits while retiring two batters via strikeout.

After seven strong innings from starter Tarik Skubal, Vest worked the eighth inning with the Tigers up 7-3. He came on to face the top of Philadelphia's order in Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, and Harper tagged him for a two-run home run. After Vest departed, the newly acquired Kyle Finnegan came on to record the final four outs and earn his first save with his new team. Detroit manager A.J. Hinch may mix and match with his revamped bullpen, and if Vest is used more frequently in high-leverage spots before the ninth inning, his fantasy value could take a hit due to a decrease in save opportunities.

Pena (hamstring) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pena missed more than a month due to a small rib fracture before returning from the injured list Friday, only to exit the Astros' series-opening loss to the Red Sox early due to a right hamstring cramp. Fortunately for Pena, the setback appears to be a minor one, as he'll be back in action Sunday. After filling in at shortstop Saturday, the newly acquired Carlos Correa will shift back over to third base.

Young is slated to start Sunday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

As expected, Young will be called upon to fill one of the openings in the rotation that was created Thursday after Zach Eflin (back) was placed on the injured list and Charlie Morton was traded to the Tigers. Young has made eight starts this season for Baltimore, going 0-5 with a 6.63 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 34:16 K:BB in 36.2 innings. The rookie right-hander came through with his first career quality start his last time out however, striking out six over six frames Tuesday while allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks.

Schlittler (1-2) took the loss against Miami on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six batters over five innings.

Schlittler was torched by fellow rookie Agustin Ramirez, as the Marlins' backstop tagged New York's starter for a pair of solo home runs. Schlittler was fine outside of those long balls, recording 10 whiffs over five frames, but the Yankees weren't able to put any runs on the board to support him. Schlittler has been decent but not spectacular since getting called up in early July, giving up two or three runs in each of his four starts but failing to go beyond 5.1 frames in any of those outings. He's tallied 21 punchouts across 19.2 innings but has also issued 11 walks. Though Luis Gil (lat) is scheduled to make his season debut Sunday, Schlittler got some rotation security when Marcus Stroman was released Friday.

Ginn (2-3) allowed four runs on four hits and five walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.

The right-hander took a major step back after having allowing just one run over his previous 11 innings. The five walks were a season high as well. Ginn was able to stretch out to 85 pitches (45 strikes) Saturday, and he should have a good chance of staying in the rotation following the Athletics' deadline deal that sent JP Sears to the Padres. Ginn has posted a 4.28 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 49:15 K:BB through 48.1 innings across 14 appearances (seven starts) this season. He's tentatively projected for a road start versus the Orioles next week.

Walker went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two walks Saturday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Walker gave Houston an early lead with a 433-foot blast in the first inning, but the Astros scored just once more in the contest. It was the veteran first baseman's second straight game with a long ball and his third home run of the second half. Walker has been hitting well since the All-Star break, batting .309 (17-for-55) with 11 RBI, eight runs and a stolen base through 15 games.

Gonzalez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in a 7-3 victory against Houston on Saturday.

Gonzalez plated Boston's first run with a solo blast to center field in the first inning. It was his second long ball over his past three games and his third across his past seven contests, though only four of those were starts. In fact, Gonzalez's past three homers have come across just 18 at-bats -- by comparison, it took him 136 at-bats to collect his first five long balls of the campaign. He's bashed lefties all season, with six of his eight total home runs coming against southpaws.

Story went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBI in a 7-3 win against the Astros on Saturday.

Story broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run blast to left field in the third inning and tacked on an RBI double in the seventh. The veteran shortstop has three home runs over his past four games and is batting an even .500 (7-for-14) with seven RBI during that span. Story is up to 18 home runs and 68 RBI on the season -- both of those totals are his highest since his 24-homer, 75-RBI campaign with Colorado in 2021.
