Cristian Javier SP | HOU
Astros' Cristian Javier: Departs with illness
Javier was removed from his start in Sunday's game against the Orioles after three innings due to an illness, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Javier recorded two strikeouts and allowed one run on three hits and no walks in the 50-pitch start before the Astros elected to pull him from the game early. The right-hander was making his second start of the season for the Astros after completing his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Javier should be ready to pitch when his next turn through the rotation comes up next weekend in Baltimore.

Ramon Urias 3B | STL
Astros' Ramon Urias: Sitting after five straight starts
Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Urias had started the last five games while going 6-for-20 with one home run, one double, three RBI and two runs, but he'll hit the bench as Jose Altuve covers the keystone. Altuve has been serving as Houston's primary designated hitter of late, but he'll need to shift back to second base once Yordan Alvarez (hand) is activated from the injured list later this month, leaving no path to regular playing time for Urias.

Jacob Melton LF | TB
Astros' Jacob Melton: Getting regular run in center field
Melton will start in center field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Orioles, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Melton will stick in the starting nine for the fourth time in five games. Though he may have the opportunity to handle a strong-side platoon role in center field until Jake Meyers (calf) returns from the injured list, Melton is slashing just .200/.250/.244 with a 39.6 percent strikeout rate over his first 48 big-league plate appearances.

Cam Smith RF | HOU
Astros' Cam Smith: Resting Sunday
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Smith will hit the bench after starting three straight contests in right field. Jesus Sanchez will handle right field Sunday while Taylor Trammell gets the nod in left.

Dylan Carlson LF | CHC
Orioles' Dylan Carlson: Heading to bench Sunday
Carlson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Carlson will head to the bench after starting five straight games and going 7-for-16 with two home runs, one triple, three walks, four RBI and four runs during that stretch. With Colton Cowser (concussion) returning from the injured list Sunday and Dylan Beavers likely to get an extended audition as an everyday player, Carlson may have to compete with Jeremiah Jackson for regular at-bats at the other spot in the Baltimore outfield. Both Carlson and Jackson may be at risk of losing out on opportunities once Tyler O'Neill (wrist) returns from the IL, however.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: On bench Sunday
Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Mountcastle started all eight games since coming off the injured list last week and has slugged two home runs and has posted a .851 OPS, but he'll take a seat for the series finale in Houston. Coby Mayo will continue to man first base for Baltimore, while top prospect Samuel Basallo is making his MLB debut at designated hitter.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Astros' Christian Walker: Taking seat Sunday
Walker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
It's a rare off day for Walker, who started the previous 30 games after spending a few days on the paternity list in early July. The first baseman is batting just .216 (11-for-51) in August but has four doubles, three homers and a 9:14 BB:K.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Exiting starting nine Sunday
Torres is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Torres will get his first day off since Aug. 5 in what appears to be a routine maintenance day. Zach McKinstry will cover second base in Torres' stead.

Dillon Dingler C | DET
Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Resting up Sunday
Dingler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Dingler will retreat to the bench after three straight starts. Jake Rogers will handle catching duties for Detroit on Sunday.
