Cade Povich SP | BAL
Orioles' Cade Povich: Decent in no-decision
Povich did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Red Sox, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks across five innings. He struck out five.
It was a solid outing overall for Povich, with the only damage against him coming via a pair of solo home runs. It's certainly a step in the right direction for the left-hander, who struggled to a 5.06 ERA in four outings (21.1 innings) since rejoining the O's in early August. Povich is currently lined up to face the Padres on the road his next time out.

Steven Matz SP | TB
Red Sox's Steven Matz: Grabs save Thursday
Matz worked around a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Orioles.
With Aroldis Chapman having pitched twice in Boston's last three games, it was Matz who was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning. The southpaw would surrender a leadoff double to Dylan Carlson, though he'd be erased on a fielder's choice as Matz cruised to his second career big-league save. The 34-year-old Matz has been impressive out of the bullpen since joining the Red Sox at the trade deadline, allowing just one run on six hits through his first 11.1 innings.

Garrett Crochet RP | BOS
Red Sox's Garrett Crochet: Another quality start
Crochet allowed two runs on six hits and no walks across six innings in a no-decision Thursday against Baltimore. He struck out seven.
It's the seventh quality start in eight outings for Crochet -- the left-hander's gone 5-1 with a 2.42 ERA and 63 strikeouts across 52 innings in that span. The 26-year-old Crochet's ERA is down to 2.40 on the season with a 1.06 WHIP and an MLB-leading 214 strikeouts through 27 starts (172.1 innings). Crochet will look to keep rolling his next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for next week at home against the Guardians.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Angels' Tyler Anderson: Activated ahead of start
The Angels reinstated Anderson from the paternity list prior to his start Thursday against the Astros.
Anderson has given up four earned runs in three of his four starts since the beginning of August and remains in search of his first win since April 18. Although he's due to face an Astros offense that has posted a .655 OPS over their last 10 games, the 35-year-old southpaw should only be viewed as a last resort for fantasy managers in search of streaming options. Jack Kochanowicz was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Jack Kochanowicz SP | LAA
Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Optioned after rocky start
The Angels optioned Kochanowicz to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.
The transaction comes one day after Kochanowicz was pummeled for 11 runs (10 earned) over 3.1 innings in a loss to the Rangers. The Angels will have to fill Kochanowicz's rotation spot next week, with Caden Dana among those likely to be under consideration.

Taylor Trammell CF | HOU
Astros' Taylor Trammell: Takes part in full workouts
Trammell (neck/concussion) resumed taking part in full workouts with the Astros earlier in the week, MLB.com reports.
Trammell was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 21, one day after he suffered a cervical muscle strain as well as a concussion following a collision with the outfield wall. His ability to return to full workouts suggests that he's made some progress in his recovery from both injuries, but the Astros haven't offered up a clear timeline for his return.

Colson Montgomery SS | CHW
White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Remains out Thursday
Montgomery (side) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.
Montgomery will miss a second straight start with a left side issue that initially cropped up last week. The hope is that he can play again soon, but the White Sox will have to consider a stint on the 10-day injured list if Montgomery isn't ready to go sometime this weekend. Chase Meidroth will handle shortstop Thursday, while Lenyn Sosa will cover second base.

Cameron Booser RP | TB
White Sox's Cam Booser: Recalled from Charlotte
The White Sox recalled Booser from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.
Before beginning a four-game set against the Yankees, the White Sox will add a fresh arm to their bullpen in the form of Booser. The 33-year-old southpaw owns a 4.85 ERA and 1.35 WHIP through 26 innings in the majors this year and will likely work in middle relief while in Chicago. Tyler Gilbert was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Emmanuel Rodriguez CF | MIN
Twins' Emmanuel Rodriguez: Starts up rehab assignment
Rodriguez (oblique) began a rehab assignment Wednesday with Single-A Fort Myers, going 1-for-3 with a walk.
Rodriguez remains on Triple-A St. Paul's 7-day injured list, but he could rejoin the Twins' top affiliate by the weekend or early next week now that he's returned to game action in the lower levels of the minors. Before being deactivated July 18, Rodriguez slashed .254/.411/.428 with five home runs and seven stolen bases across 175 plate appearances for St. Paul.
