  • Luis Gil SP | NYY

Yankees' Luis Gil: Fans seven Sunday

Gil did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox. He allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings with seven strikeouts.

The New York right-hander equaled a season high with his seven punchouts generated on 12 whiffs out of his 98 total pitches. Gil was cruising through the first five frames, conceding just one run on a Will Robertson double in the second. After giving up a solo homer to Colson Montgomery with one out in the sixth, Gil walked the next batter and was then lifted from the contest. Through 29.1 total innings, Gil now sports a 3.68 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 29:19 K:BB with a worrisome 25.6 percent groundball rate. The 27-year-old is scheduled to make his next appearance in the Yankees' upcoming home series next weekend against Toronto.

  • Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA

Rays' Pete Fairbanks: Fans two for save

Fairbanks allowed two hits in a scoreless ninth inning to earn a save over the Nationals on Sunday. He struck out two.

Fairbanks worked around a pair of singles to escape unscathed in the 7-4 victory. He converted both of his save chances against Washington this weekend, but he's shown some shakiness lately; Fairbanks has given up four runs (three earned) on seven hits over his last five frames. Still, he owns a strong 2.81 ERA and 53:15 K:BB while converting 24 of his 29 save chances through 52 appearances.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Knocks grand slam

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's win over Washington.

Lowe ripped a grand slam during the Rays' six-run second inning. It was his 28th long ball of the year and fourth in his last eight games. He leads all MLB second basemen in home runs and RBI (71) this season. Lowe owns a .264/.319/.493 slash line through 113 games and is approaching his first 30-homer campaign since 2021.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Goes deep in loss

Schneemann went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Seattle.

The Guardians utility man started at second before eventually shifting to third and snapped a 19-game long-ball draught in this contest. Schneeman cracked a 408-foot, two-run homer off Mariners starter Bryce Miller in the third to tally his team's only runs of the game. Schneeman, who is in a strong-side platoon role, is now slashing .220/.301/.381 with 11 homers, eight steals, 41 runs scored and 34 RBI across 357 total plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Randy Arozarena: Blasts 26th long ball

Arozarena went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 4-2 win at Cleveland.

The Seattle outfielder tied the contest at 2-2 with a 421-foot, two-run shot off Guardians starter Tanner Bibee in the fifth. The round tripper wraps an August over which Arozarena led off in all 27 contests he played, hitting .212 (24-for-113) with five homers, four steals, 21 runs scored and 13 RBI. Across 592 total plate appearances, the 30-year-old is now slashing .242/.338/.454 with 82 runs scored and 66 RBI.

  • Bryce Miller SP | SEA

Mariners' Bryce Miller: Notches fourth win

Miller (4-5) earned the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over six innings with three strikeouts.

Despite generating just seven whiffs out of his 72 total pitches, the 27-year-old managed to tally his first quality start of the season. Both runs Miller conceded scored via a Daniel Schneemann two-run homer in the third. Through 64.2 total frames, the Seattle right-hander has pitched to a 5.71 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 50:27 K:BB, making him a tough option to rely upon in fantasy. Miller currently lines up to make his next start at Atlanta next weekend.

  • Andres Munoz RP | SEA

Mariners' Andres Munoz: Secures 32nd save

Munoz pitched a clean inning with two strikeouts to pick up the save in Sunday's 4-2 victory at Cleveland.

After hitting a rough patch with five runs (three earned) conceded in 4.1 frames over his last five appearances, Munoz showed no signs of struggle in this 16-pitch outing. The Seattle flamethrower now ranks third in saves behind Carlos Estevez (36) and Robert Suarez (35). Across 53.1 total innings, Munoz has produced a 1.69 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 68:24 K:BB while converting 32 of 39 save chances.

  • Tanner Bibee SP | CLE

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Saddled with 11th loss

Bibee (9-11) conceded four runs on six hits and two walks over 6.1 innings to take the loss Sunday against the Mariners. He struck out four.

The Cleveland right-hander's recent second-half struggles continued in this 91-pitch performance. Bibee allowed four or more runs for the eighth straight appearance, as he's pitched to a 5.91 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 31:16 K:BB in 45.2 innings across that span. The 26-year-old looked solid through his first six frames but was chased in the seventh after permitting two of the first three batters to reach, both of which subsequently scored on a hit given up by reliever Matt Festa. Bibee will carry a 4.77 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 7.9 K/9 over 154.2 total innings into his next matchup, which currently lines up to be at Tampa Bay next weekend.

  • Royals' Carter Jensen: Set for September call-up

The Royals are expected to call up Jensen from Triple-A Omaha prior to Tuesday's series opener versus the Angels.

Jensen is arguably the Royals' top prospect and has thrived in his first stint at Triple-A this season, posting a .288/.404/.647 slash line with 14 home runs and three stolen bases over 43 games. The Royals may look to limit the left-handed-hitting Jensen's exposure to southpaws initially, but he could be in store for at least semi-regular playing time versus right-handed pitching while moving between catcher and designated hitter.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Set for activation Tuesday

The Royals are expected to reinstate Caglianone (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's series opener versus the Angels.

Caglianone landed on the injured list July 26 due to the strained left hamstring, but he began a minor-league rehab assignment Aug. 12 and has thrived during his time at Triple-A Omaha. Through 16 rehab appearances with the affiliate, he's posted a .385/.467/.692 slash line with five home runs, 16 RBI, 17 runs and one stolen base. Caglianone will likely play on an everyday basis at designated hitter or in the corner outfield upon rejoining the Royals, which could put the likes of Jonathan India, Michael Massey and Adam Frazier at risk of losing out on some starts.
