  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Socks 29th homer

Perez went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Mariners.

Perez is now up to 29 long balls and 92 RBI this year, putting him on the precipice of his first 30-homer campaign since 2021 and the second of his career. The veteran backstop has six big flies in September and four in his past four games. Over his last 57 at-bats, Perez is batting just .211 but is slugging .561 with 15 RBI as he also pushes for the third 100-RBI season of his career.

  • Royals' Carlos Estevez: Notches 40th save in return

Estevez (back) picked up the save Wednesday against the Mariners, allowing one run on three hits with no strikeouts or walks in the ninth inning.

After leaving Sunday's win over Philadelphia due to mild back tightness, Estevez returned to action Wednesday but was shaky in collecting his MLB-leading 40th save. The earned run was his first allowed since Aug. 13 versus Washington, and the three hits given up were his most since July 3 in Seattle. Estevez has still produced a 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 52:22 K:BB over 64 innings, and the veteran right-hander appears to be locked in as the Royals' closer to close out his excellent campaign.

  • Taylor Ward LF | LAA

Angels' Taylor Ward: Fifth career multi-homer game

Ward went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 9-2 loss to Milwaukee.

Wednesday represented Ward's fifth career multi-homer game and his second of the season. The two RBI gave the veteran outfielder the first 100-RBI season of his career, as well. Despite a subpar .225 average, Ward has set career highs across the board with 33 long balls, 31 doubles, 83 runs scored and 72 walks over 551 at-bats to remain a quality fantasy asset in 2025.

  • Matt Wallner RF | MIN

Twins' Matt Wallner: Exits with back spasms

Wallner was removed from Wednesday's game against the Yankees with right back spasms, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Wallner went 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the fifth inning. A day off Thursday for the Twins will give him an additional day to recover before potentially returning to action Friday without missing a start.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Battling back tightness

Caminero was removed from Wednesday's game against Toronto due to mid-back tightness, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Caminero had gone 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts before his back forced him to make an early exit during the seventh inning. The Rays are already labeling him as day-to-day, which suggests the injury isn't too serious, though they may give Tristan Gray or Richie Palacios a start at third base Thursday to give Caminero extra time to recover.

  • Kyle Isbel CF | KC

Royals' Kyle Isbel: Suffers hamstring injury

Isbel was removed from Wednesday's game against the Mariners due to left hamstring discomfort.

Isbel grounded out to end the second frame and was replaced in the outfield to start the next half-inning. It remains unclear whether his injury will force him to miss additional time, which would likely provide more opportunities for Tyler Tolbert in center field.

  • Jose Soriano SP | LAA

Angels' Jose Soriano: Pulled with bruised forearm

Soriano was removed from his start Wednesday against the Brewers due to a right forearm contusion.

Soriano took a line drive off his forearm in the second inning of Wednesday's game, forcing him to be pulled after just 1.1 frames. He was charged with three earned runs and is likely headed toward his 11th loss of the season. X-rays on his forearm came back negative shortly after the incident, leaving the door open for him to make his next start.

  • Astros' Victor Caratini: Drawing third straight start

Caratini will start at designated hitter and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Caratini had initially been serving as a part-time player upon recovering from a concussion and getting activated from the 7-day injured list Sept. 3, but he'll be making his third consecutive start Wednesday. The significant left ankle sprain that Yordan Alvarez suffered in Monday's 6-3 win over Texas has created an opening in the everyday lineup, though Caratini could be at risk of seeing his playing time get cut if Isaac Paredes (hamstring) returns from the 60-day IL this weekend.

  • Rangers' Alejandro Osuna: Gaining foothold in lineup

Osuna will start in left field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Osuna appears to have supplanted Michael Helman as the preferred No. 3 option in the outfield alongside lineup mainstays Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia. The 22-year-old rookie will pick up his eighth consecutive start after getting on base at a .348 clip while chipping in one RBI and two runs over the previous seven contests.

  • Chris Martin RP | TEX

Rangers' Chris Martin: Moves past hand issue

Martin (hand) hit a batter but allowed no other baserunners during an inning of relief in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Astros.

Martin experienced some tingling in his right hand during his previous relief appearance in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mets, but a couple days off was all he needed for the issue to be resolved. The veteran righty made quick work of the Astros in the ninth inning Tuesday, needing just seven pitches to record three outs.
