Fletcher (hand) went 1-for-2 with a single in a 3-1 loss Tuesday in Cleveland.

Fletcher was removed from Saturday's game in Houston after being hit by a pitch and missed the last two games. He did not start Tuesday but pinch hit for Andrew Velazquez in the fifth inning and remained in the game, playing shortstop. Despite his appearance off the bench, Fletcher doesn't appear to be fully past the hand issue as he bunted in both his plate appearances Tuesday and appeared unable to take full swings, per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register.

  • Angels' Andrew Velazquez: Exits with apparent injury

Velazquez was removed from Tuesday's game at Cleveland with an apparent injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Velazquez singled in his lone at-bat before being replaced by a pinch hitter during the fifth inning, as he appeared to suffer an injury while he fielded a groundball in the previous frame. David Fletcher, who was out of Tuesday's lineup for a third straight game due to a bruised hand, has entered the game at shortstop for the Halos.

  • Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA

Braves' Vaughn Grissom: Out of lineup Tuesday

Grissom isn't starting in Tuesday's game against San Francisco.

He was involved in a collision in right field with teammate Robbie Grossman on Sunday, per Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. While Grissom stayed in the game, it's possible he's dealing with some lingering effects. In his place, Ehire Adrianza will get the nod at second and bat ninth in the Atlanta order.

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Could return next week

Anderson (hand) is resuming baseball activities Tuesday and could return at some point during next week's homestand if all goes well, according to general manager Rick Hahn, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Hahn said it will depend how Anderson's ramp up goes, regarding when he could be activated. The White Sox have a homestand that runs from Sept. 20 through Sept. 25. Anderson has been out since Aug. 6 after undergoing left hand surgery.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Activated, hitting seventh Tuesday

Diaz (groin) was activated from the 10-day injured list and is starting at designated hitter while batting seventh Tuesday against the Tigers.

He will end up missing four weeks with the groin injury. Diaz had settled into a prominent role prior to the injury, hitting .297/.329/.541 with four home runs in 21 second-half games. However, now that Trey Mancini has settled into a semi-regular role, Diaz may occupy a utility role over the rest of the season.
