Perdomo is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Rays.

Nick Ahmed will start at shortstop for the first time since last Thursday and Jake McCarthy will fill the leadoff role. Perdomo is sitting on a six-game hitting streak and boasts a strong .296/.396/.452 batting line across 240 total plate appearances this year.

Marcano isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Padres, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

With left-hander Blake Snell set to start on the mound for San Diego, the left-handed bat of Marcano will remain in the dugout for the beginning of Wednesday's game. Nick Gonzales will instead start at shortstop, allowing Rodolfo Castro to start at the keystone and bat fifth.

DeJong is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Astros.

DeJong has slugged three home runs over his last seven games while improving his season OPS to .764, but he'll take a seat Wednesday as the Cardinals deploy Tommy Edman at shortstop and Lars Nootbaar in center field.

Abrams (elbow) is not in the lineup Wednesday at Seattle, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Abrams made an early exit from Tuesday night's game after taking a pitch off his right elbow, though it doesn't seem to be an overly serious concern. Ildemaro Vargas will play shortstop and bat sixth for the Nationals on Wednesday as Abrams grabs some rest and treatment.

Velazquez entered as a pinch runner in Tuesday's win over the White Sox, logging a stolen base and scoring a run.

Velazquez hasn't gotten a start since Saturday, but he's still making an impact, swiping a bag as a pinch runner twice in the past three days. The shortstop has demonstrated excellent acumen on the basepaths over the past two seasons, collecting 23 thefts on 25 attempts in 135 games. However, he's batting just .198 during that span, which has prevented him from holding onto an everyday role.

Wendle went 4-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.

The Marlins piled up 10 runs on 19 hits, but it was their nine-hole hitter who led the team in knocks. Wendle has looked good since missing a couple games in the middle of the month with a minor groin issue, batting .371 (13-for-35) over 12 contests since his return, but only one of those hits went for extra bases and he has zero homers or steals, with just two RBI and four runs, during his hot streak.

Bichette went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's loss to the Giants.

The Jays managed only eight hits in total, and Bichette's efforts led to no run production in a 3-0 loss. That's been an all-too-common story for the shortstop lately. Bichette extended his hitting streak to 12 games Tuesday, a stretch in which he's slashing .360/.373/.540 but has just four runs and four RBI.

Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

The shortstop took Julio Teheran deep in the fourth inning, one of four Mets long balls off the right-hander. Lindor has begun to look like his old self at the plate in June, and over his last 20 games he's slashing .277/.383/.615 with six of his 16 homers and five of his nine steals on the season.

DeJong went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

The shortstop launched a solo shot off Framber Valdez in the third inning -- the first homer the lefty had allowed since May 15. DeJong has four of his 12 long balls on the season in his last 12 games, a stretch in which he's slashing .267/.277/.578 despite a 40.4 percent strikeout rate that portends some serious regression ahead.

Correa is not in Wednesday's lineup against Atlanta.

Correa is hitting .216 with five home runs and 24 strikeouts in 22 games this month. Kyle Farmer will start at shortstop and hit cleanup against lefty Kolby Allard.
