  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Swipes bag, scores twice

Tovar went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 14-3 loss to the Dodgers on Thursday.

Tovar has a 12-game hitting streak going, during which he's gone 17-for-49 (.347). He also picked up his first steal since June 3 in Thursday's loss -- he was caught stealing on his last two attempts. The shortstop's made strides with his bat, having gone hitless just twice in June to raise his season average to .265. He's added a .729 OPS, seven home runs, 36 RBI, 38 runs scored and three stolen bases over 76 contests.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Two steals in Thursday's win

Turner went 2-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and a run scored in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Cubs.

Turner has gone 8-for-24 (.333) with four steals and seven RBI during his active six-game hitting streak. The shortstop was a bit hesitant on the basepaths earlier in the year, but he's now amassed 10 steals through 25 games in June. For the season, he's slashing just .249/.304/.386 with 17 thefts, eight home runs, 29 RBI, 46 runs scored, 17 doubles and two triples over 79 contests.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: On bench Thursday

Rojas is out of the lineup Thursday versus the Rockies.

Mookie Betts will start at shortstop and bat leadoff as the Dodgers close out a three-game series at Coors Field. Rojas went 1-for-3 with a run scored Wednesday but is slashing just .232/.275/.280 across 182 total plate appearances on the year.

  • Oneil Cruz CF | PIT

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Throwing from 75 feet

Cruz (fibula) played catch Thursday at a distance of 75 feet, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Cruz has also been doing some other range-of-motion exercises as he begins to ramp up his rehabilitation from early-April surgery to repair a fibula fracture. The current hope is that he could begin playing in live games again sometime in August.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Nabs third steal

Wendle went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox.

It's the third multi-hit performance in the last four games for Wendle, but the double was his first extra-base hit since June 17. The 33-year-old is enjoying a big June, slashing .365/.385/.486 over 23 games, but it hasn't translated into much fantasy production -- on the season he has only one homer, three steals, eight RBI and 16 runs in 45 contests.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Day off Thursday

Seager is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tigers.

Josh Smith will start at shortstop and bat ninth as the Rangers wrap up their four-game series versus Detroit. Seager made an early exit from Wednesday's game, but this is all part of a designed plan to keep him healthy leading into the second half of the 2023 campaign. He boasts a .342/.394/.627 slash line in 175 plate appearances since returning May 17 from a severe left hamstring strain.

  • Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Loses hold of steady playing time

Marcano is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.

The lefty-hitting Marcano is on the bench for the third game in a row, with two of his absences from the lineup having come when the Pirates faced right-handed pitchers. Marcano has slashed a woeful .197/.231/.262 through 22 games in June and appears to have lost hold of a regular role in the middle infield to recent call-up Nick Gonzales.

  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Stays hot Wednesday

Duran went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an additional RBI in Wednesday's victory over the Tigers.

Duran has multiple hits in four straight contests and eight of his last 10 starts. He's hit a home run in back-to-back games against the Tigers and collected eight extra-base hits, five RBI and eight runs during his 10-game hot streak. While he's been on another level recently, Duran has been a steady contributor all season for the Rangers, slashing .322/.364/.555 with 11 home runs, 33 RBI and 33 runs scored across 61 games (225 plate appearances). The 24-year-old can play infield or outfield, but he appears to have solidified himself as Texas' primary left fielder moving forward.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Doubles in loss

Ahmed went 1-for-3 with a double in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Rays.

Ahmed was in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay righty Zach Eflin. The shortstop typically doesn't start against right-handers, but the Diamondbacks have seen a string of them lately. His previous start was a week ago, June 22, also against a righty. Ahmed has just 30 plate appearances during the month of June, and the job share between he and Geraldo Perdomo that started the season now tilts heavily in favor of the latter.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Tallies three RBI in win

Tovar went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs and three RBI in a 9-8 win against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Tovar came up with arguably the biggest hit for the Rockies in the victory, clearing the bases with a double in the sixth inning to turn a one-run deficit into a two-run lead. The shortstop extended his hitting streak to 11 games, a stretch during which he is slashing .356/.362/.578 with two homers, nine RBI and six runs. The hot streak has pushed Tovar's season slash line to .266/.301/.432 over 286 plate appearances.
