Otto Lopez SS | MIA
Marlins' Otto Lopez: Swipes bag in return
Lopez went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mets.
Batting sixth in his return from paternity leave, Lopez created an insurance run for the Marlins in the ninth inning nearly on his own -- he led off the frame with a single, stole second, took third on Francisco Alvarez's throwing error then scored on a sacrifice fly. Lopez extended his hitting streak to seven games in the process. Since taking over the starting job at second base in early May, he's slashing .296/.322/.395 over 24 contests with two homers, four steals, seven runs and 16 RBI.

Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Nearly hits cycle in debut
Lawlar went 3-for-6 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored for Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
Lawlar, who was activated off the injured list and assigned to Reno on Tuesday, made his season debut with the Aces and flirted with a cycle. He doubled in his first at-bat then homered in the fifth inning. Lawlar was introduced to Triple-A in 2023, when he posted a .358/.438/.612 line over 16 games before making his MLB debut last September.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Back from injury
Perdomo (knee) went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 9-4 victory over the Angels.
Perdomo was activated off the injured list Tuesday and took back his spot at shortstop. His return means less work for Kevin Newman and Blaze Alexander, both of whom remained on the roster following Perdomo's activation.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Giants' Nick Ahmed: Resumes rehab assignment
Ahmed (wrist) returned to Triple-A Sacramento's lineup for Tuesday's game versus Reno and went 0-for-4.
Ahmed was pulled off of his rehab assignment after his first game June 1 due to a setback with his sprained left wrist. The shortstop is rehabbing alongside Marco Luciano (hamstring), though there's no guarantee either player will have a starting job waiting for them once cleared to return to the majors.

Marco Luciano SS | NYY
Giants' Marco Luciano: Begins rehab assignment
Luciano (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Triple-A Sacramento's game versus Reno on Tuesday.
This game marked the beginning of Luciano's rehab assignment after he landed on the injured list May 31. The infielder played second base for Sacramento, with Nick Ahmed (wrist) also on a rehab assignment and occupying shortstop. Given the timeline of those two players rehabbing together, it's possible Luciano stays at Triple-A once healthy, as the Giants likely value Brett Wisely's versatility a bit more for the major-league roster.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
White Sox's Paul DeJong: Clubs homer Tuesday
DeJong went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.
DeJong is up to 13 homers on the year, six of which he's hit over his last 11 contests. He went back-to-back with Andrew Vaughn in the third inning of Tuesday's contest, though that's where the White Sox's scoring ended. DeJong is up to a .240/.290/.490 slash line with 28 RBI, 28 runs scored, two stolen bases and 11 doubles over 62 contests while seeing a starting role at shortstop.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Rangers' Corey Seager: Still not starting Tuesday
Seager (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.
Despite a team day off Monday, Seager's absence will extend to four games as he continues to nurse the hamstring strain he suffered Wednesday versus Detroit. Ezequiel Duran will take over at shortstop and bat seventh Tuesday.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Activated from IL
The Diamondbacks reinstated Perdomo (knee) from the injured list Tuesday.
Perdomo suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in early April, but after roughly two months of recovery and a seven-game rehab assignment, he's ready to return to Arizona's lineup. The 24-year-old infielder went 3-for-22 with four RBI during his assignment, playing three games in the Arizona Complex League and four games with Triple-A Reno. Despite his struggles, he figures to start regularly at shortstop for the D-backs. Pavin Smith was optioned to Reno in a corresponding move.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Rehab stint pushed back
Gonzalez (hamstring) won't start his rehab assignment Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Gonzalez was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Worcester, but he's still in Boston as the Red Sox start a three-game homestand against the Phillies on Tuesday night. At this point, it's unclear when Gonzalez will head to Worcester, but he'll likely require a brief minor-league stint as part of his rehab from a strained left hamstring.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Placed on IL with back injury
The Tigers placed Baez on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with lumbar spine inflammation, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Baez has evidently been bothered by the back issue off and on all season and is headed to Florida to meet with a doctor. He's expected to be out more than the minimum 10 days, though a clearer picture regarding his timetable could be available after the exam. Zach McKinstry and Ryan Kreidler are expected to share duties at shortstop while Baez is on the shelf.
