  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Receiving rare day off

Abrams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Abrams started 40 straight games after recovering from a hip injury in late April, but he has a .127/.213/.182 slash line over his last 14 contests and will get a couple days to reset ahead of Tuesday's series opener versus the Mets. Nasim Nunez will take over at shortstop and bat ninth Sunday.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Rays' Jose Caballero: Not in Sunday's lineup

Caballero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Caballero started the first two games of the series in the outfield and will sit Sunday while in the midst of an 0-for-14 slump. Jake Mangum, Kameron Misner and Josh Lowe will man the outfield from left to right field.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Remains in lineup for series finale

De La Cruz will start at shortstop and bat third in Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

After the recent passing of his sister, De La Cruz had been expected to be placed on the bereavement list prior to Friday's series opener versus Arizona, but the Reds never made an official transaction. The star shortstop wasn't on Friday's lineup card while he was away from the team, but after that game was suspended, he came off the bench when it resumed Saturday before going 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's regularly scheduled contest.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Homers in loss

Perdomo went 1-for-7 with a solo home run in losses to the Reds on Friday and Saturday. The Friday game was suspended due to rain and completed Saturday.

Perdomo homered during the Friday portion of the first game, which was suspended after six innings with score tied 3-3. Since being moved up in the order a week ago, Perdomo has gone 3-for-25 over six games.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Reaches three times in win

Edwards went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored, a double and a walk during Saturday's 11-10 extra-inning win over the Rays.

June has been a kind month to Edwards so far as he's now recorded a hit in four of the five games he's played. The 25-year-old is 9-for-18 with four runs scored, three doubles, three RBI, two walks and just one strikeout. He is slashing .284/.355/.326 on the season, so it's good to see him getting some extra-base hits.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Three-RBI day in loss

Walls went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional RBI in Saturday's 11-10 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Walls is currently in the midst of his best stretch of the season, posting his third multi-hit game in a row Saturday. The 28-year-old has gone 6-for-12 with two doubles, a home run and five RBI over the three-game stretch and could be included in the lineup on a more frequent basis while he's wielding a hot bat.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Plates five runs Saturday

Story went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and five RBI in a 10-7 win against the Yankees on Saturday.

Story produced a bases-clearing double in the third inning, and he added a pair of insurance runs with a single in the ninth. The five RBI marked a season high for the veteran shortstop and equaled the number of runs he had plated over his previous 15 games combined. This was also Story's first three-hit performance since April 21, and he's still slashing a modest .222/.268/.331 on the season.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Racks up three hits, steal in win

Henderson went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Athletics.

Henderson didn't play Friday, getting some rest for the first time since his April 4 season debut after opening the season on the shelf due to an intercostal strain. The shortstop has four multi-hit efforts over his last eight games, going 10-for-29 (.345) with two extra-base hits in that span. For the season, he's at a .266/.326/.441 slash line, eight home runs, 17 RBI, 31 runs scored and seven steals across 56 contests.

  • Chase Meidroth SS | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Goes deep in victory

Meidroth went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-1 win against the Royals on Saturday.

Meidroth contributed a 373-foot solo shot in the third inning to give Chicago a 3-1 lead. The long ball was just the second of the season for the rookie infielder, but he's slashing a strong .300/.386/.373 through 42 games. Meidroth has also demonstrated elite plate discipline, as he has more walks (21) than strikeouts (20) on the campaign.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Steals in consecutive contests

Neto went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Angels.

Neto has swiped a bag in each of the last two contests, giving him 10 steals on the year. The shortstop is also hitting steadily, recording at least one knock in 18 of his last 21 games, though he has a modest six multi-hit efforts in that span. He's up to a .273/.309/.508 slash line with 10 home runs, 25 RBI, 35 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple through 45 contests while filling the leadoff role for the Angels.
