Anna went 1-2 with an RBI in Wednesday's spring training matchup with Atlanta.

Anna has had 10 at-bats this spring, scoring four runs and stealing two bases. The 29-year-old shortstop only has 23 career at-bats in the majors, compiling a .136 average during that time. Seeing as how the Cardinals have three shortstops ahead of Anna on their depth chart, he will likely start the 2016 season at Triple-A Memphis where he left off last season.

Gordon went 1-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run in Wednesday's spring training game against the Nationals.

Gordon had one of the best seasons in all of baseball last year, posting a batting average of .333 on 205 hits with 58 stolen bases. The 27-year-old has seven hits in 24 plate appearances this spring and will try to achieve a .300/60-steal/100-run season in 2016.

Tejada was released by the Mets on Wednesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The shortstop went through waivers unclaimed, so he'll head into free agency with the Mets only having to pay him a bit under $500,000. He's an intriguing pickup with major league experience that could come at a low price for a team looking for more depth at shortstop.

Crawford was sent to minor league camp this week, CSN Philadelphia reports.

Crawford had three hits in 20 at-bats this spring. His goal for the season is to clean up some of his sloppiness in the field after making 27 errors in the minors last year. He will either open the season in Double-A Reading or Triple-A Lehigh Valley. A promotion to the majors could come late this season.

Tejada has been placed on waivers by the Mets, ESPN New York reports.

Tejada was expected to split time at shortstop with Wilmer Flores while Asdrubal Cabrera (knee) is out. Despite that expectation, there was always the concern that that Mets might waive or deal him due to his $3 million salary. St. Louis, who is without Jhonny Peralta, could be a landing spot. Tejada's upcoming departure means that Flores is likely locked in as the back up shortstop and Matt Reynolds could break camp with the team replacing Tejada. If not, Eric Campbell could earn that spot and see time at third whenever David Wright (back) is out.

Correa hit his first home run of the spring Monday against the Nationals.

Correa's solo shot off Nationals starter Joe Ross accounted for the Astros' only run of the game. The 21-year-old is 9-for-19 (.474) through seven Grapefruit League games and is primed for a big season hitting out of the three-hole in Houston's lineup.

Wendle was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

With numerous options at second base for Oakland, Wendle's odds of making the Opening Day roster weren't spectacular. That being said, the 25-year-old's career remains on an upward trajectory as he'll begin a second straight season in Nashville while awaiting his MLB debut.

Castro was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.

He'll likely begin the season as a regular in the minors, with the hope of pushing his way back to Atlanta if injuries deplete the team's veteran depth ahead of him.

Manager Walt Weiss wants to "let [the positional battle at shortstop] play out," but Story is making a push for the starting shortstop role after amassing three home runs and seven RBI in seven spring games, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Story has been receiving a lot of time at shortstop this spring due to the off-field issues surrounding Jose Reyes, and he has made the most of it. Weiss is remaining patient on the subject. "It's not like I'm going to name a starter yet," he said. "We have some time." Story is currently competing with Christian Adames, Daniel Descalso and Rafael Ynoa for the top spot while Reyes is out, but if Story continues to mash major league pitching, the Rockies seem likely to reward him with a spot on the 25-man roster.

Walters was officially optioned to Triple-A on Monday.

As expected, Walters will start the year after being considered somewhat of a longshot to make the Opening Day roster. The 26-year-old will attempt to work his way to the major league level at some point this season as he returns from shoulder surgery.
