Arcia (ankle, illness) is hitting ninth and playing shortstop Wednesday against the Royals.

The young shortstop missed the past three games after injuring his ankle during the series with the Marlins and then dealing with a stomach ailment, but it seems like all that has subsided with the extra time off. He'll resume his normal role in the lineup, pushing Eric Sogard back to the bench for the foreseeable future.

Ahmed is not in the lineup against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Ahmed will receive a rare day off after going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and a walk during Tuesday's outing. In his place, Ketel Marte will start at shortstop while Chris Owings mans the keystone. Ahmed has been struggling a bit to start off the 2018 campaign, hitting just .188/.288/.391 with three home runs and 11 RBI over 19 games.

Bichette went 2-for-5 with two triples, two runs and a strikeout Tuesday for Double-A New Hampshire against Binghamton.

This was his first career two-triple game, and while some sloppy outfield defense contributed to at least one of the three baggers, it still serves as a reminder that Bichette can run a little. Teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. drove in Bichette after both triples -- something that will be a common theme for the next seven years. While Bichette's .296 average is a little below his marks at previous minor-league stops, he still boasts a 139 wRC+ as the second-youngest hitter in the Eastern League.

Story went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Padres.

Story has now recorded at least one hit in seven of the last eight games, bringing his average up to .250. The home run was his sixth of the year, and the four RBI push his season total to 18, which is good for third-most among all shortstops in the majors. Story is so far proving to be a formidable run producer.

Bogaerts (ankle) began a rehabilitation assignment Tuesday for Triple-A Pawtucket and is expected to be activated off the disabled list for Friday's home game against the Rays, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Bogaerts kicked off his rehab by going 2-for-3 with a home run and played six innings at shortstop. Both hits were opposite-field jobs to right field. He'll play another game for the PawSox on Wednesday, weather permitting. Manager Alex Cora said Bogaerts could still be activated Friday even if Pawtucket is rained out Wednesday.

Anderson went 2-for-4 and was caught stealing while batting leadoff in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Mariners.

Anderson was moved up for the day with the left-handed Marco Gonzales on the bump for Seattle. With both hits coming in three at-bats against Gonzales, Anderson's average against lefties improved to .381 (8-for-21). The stolen base try was his ninth attempt of the season and first time caught, putting him well ahead of the pace he established last year in his first full season in the majors.

Arcia (ankle) is out of Tuesday's lineup due to a stomach illness, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

It was reported that Arcia's ankle has returned to full health and that he would have been in Tuesday's starting lineup had it not been for his illness. The team didn't specify Arcia's illness, so consider him day-to-day until further notice. With Arcia out, Eric Sogard is starting at shortstop Tuesday night.

Arcia left Friday's game against the Marlins with a right ankle injury, and while his X-rays were negative, he's yet to return to the lineup. It was reported over the weekend that he could end up on the disabled list if he's unable to play against the Royals, but Arcia seems adamant that he will be fine. Eric Sogard continues to start at shortstop in his absence.

Crawford is not in the lineup Tuesday against Arizona.

Crawford started against the first lefty that the Phillies faced this season but has now been on the bench against the last five. The 23-year-old has a .376 OPS against lefties compared to .695 against righties so far in his brief major-league career, so expect the Phillies to keep protecting him against southpaws. That should help his batting average while hurting his counting stats. Pedro Florimon makes a rare start in his place Tuesday.

Anderson is batting first against the Mariners on Tuesday.

Yoan Moncada is Chicago's typical leadoff hitter, but with lefty Marco Gonzales toeing the rubber for Seattle, Anderson will take a turn atop the order. The speedy shortstop has mashed southpaws in his career, hitting .323 with a .470 slugging percentage over the past three seasons.
