Gordon (ankle) will start at second base and bat atop the order against the Blue Jays on Friday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Gordon will not be forced to miss any time after leaving Thursday's game with a twisted right ankle. Across 99 games this year, he's hit .288/.308/.349 with 22 RBI and 26 stolen bases.

Ahmed is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Ahmed has a hit in six straight starts, going 9-for-22 (good for a .409 batting average) in those games. He'll take a seat Friday with Ketel Marte starting in his place.

Owings was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Owings has been disappointing in a utility role for the Diamondbacks this season, hitting just .198/.267/.287 in 90 games. His positional flexibility gives him multiple avenues back to the roster, but he hasn't done anything to suggest he'll be a significant fantasy asset if and when that happens. Andrew Chafin was reinstated from the paternity list in a corresponding move.

Arcia is out of the lineup Friday against the Rockies.

Arcia is expected to retain a significant role despite the recent acquisitions of Mike Moustakas and Jonathan Schoop, but he'll certainly lose at least a bit of playing time. The Brewers will go for an all-offense approach Friday, with Moustakas bumping Travis Shaw to second and Shaw bumping Schoop to shortstop.

Swanson is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.

Swanson is 3-for-23 over his last seven games and will head to the bench for Friday's contest. Charlie Culberson will start at shortstop and bat eighth for the Braves.

Adames is not in the lineup against the White Sox on Friday, Steve Carney of 620 WDAE reports.

Adames will head to the bench following six straight starts, during which he's gone 5-for-20 with three RBI and seven strikeouts. Daniel Robertson will move over to shortstop while Joey Wendle gets a start at the keystone.

Manager Alex Cora said Bogaerts (wrist) will not be included in Friday's starting lineup against the Yankees, though he could be available off the bench if needed, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Bogaerts will take a seat for the second straight day after getting struck by a pitch during Tuesday's contest versus Philadelphia. In his place, look for Brock Holt to man the shortstop position. Consider Bogaerts day-to-day ahead of Saturday's affair.

Gordon will be reevaluated when he gets to the park prior to Friday's game. He was forced to leave Thursday's outing in the ninth inning after twisting his right ankle. Even though he will likely bypass a stint on the DL, there's a chance the Mariners will give him a couple days off to recover, so consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Manager Alex Cora said he will not rush Bogaerts (wrist) back to the lineup, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports. "I'll take my time," the manager said. "Whenever he's ready, he'll come back. I'm not going to rush him to get back in the lineup."

Bogaerts said the wrist was better Thursday after getting plunked by a pitch Wednesday, but abandoned his plan to hit because "it wasn't good enough." He'll come to the park Friday and see where his wrist is at. The Red Sox, owners of MLB's best record and a 6.5-game lead over the second-place Yankees, have the room to be cautious with their starting shortstop. If he can't go Friday against the Yankees, expect Brock Holt to start in his place for a second straight game.

Gordon left Thursday's loss to Toronto in the ninth inning after twisting his right ankle, MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-3 with a run scored and stolen base before departing.

Gordon had to be helped off the field, so it looks like he could miss some time. Gordon reached base to lead off the bottom of the first inning and wasted no time stealing second base. After failing to swipe a base for 15 consecutive games in July, Gordon now has four steals in his last eight games and leads the American League with 26 on the season.
