Urena was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo prior to Sunday's game in Oakland.

Urena is a capable defender, so he will continue to see time in the majors as long as he remains on the 40-man roster, but there is no evidence that Urena can be productive against big-league pitching (career 84 wRC+, 31.9 percent strikeout rate). He should get the occassional start while he is up.

Wendle is a candidate to lead off against right-handed pitchers while Austin Meadows (thumb sprain) is on the injured list, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Brandon Lowe is the other candidate to lead off against righties while Meadows is on the mend. Wendle was just activated from the IL and is hitting fifth in his first game back, against a left-handed pitcher (David Price) no less. This deployment makes it seem like Wendle will be given regular work going forward. His OBP skills would fit nicely atop the lineup, as Lowe has thrived hitting in the middle of the order so far.

Gordon went 1-for-4 with a two-run single, his 1,000 career hit, in a win over the Angels on Saturday.

Gordon's timely fourth-inning single, which plated Jay Bruce and Omar Narvaez, thus had some extra significance. The veteran speedster's work at the plate this season has been overshadowed by the record-setting home-run pace several of his power-hitting teammates have helped forge. However, Gordon is hitting a solid .284, adding an impressive 13 RBI over 90 plate appearances and also recording eight stolen bases in nine attempts.

DeJong went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs, and an RBI in a win over the Mets on Saturday.

Following a rare 0-for-4 night Friday, DeJong was right back to tormenting opposing pitchers Saturday. With his pair of doubles, DeJong now has 14 extra-base hits in 91 plate appearances, putting him nearly a third of the way to the 45 he amassed in 2018 over 490 opportunities. Moreover, despite seeing a career-low 3.65 pitches per plate appearance thus far this season, DeJong's current .329 average and .396 on-base percentage easily qualify as career highs.

Velazquez was recalled from Triple-A Durham, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Austin Meadows (thumb sprain) landed on the injured list, so Velazquez was summoned to provide some depth and versatility. He is capable of playing shortstop, but he really shines in the outfield, thanks to his plus speed. Velazquez could be of use in AL-only leagues for those looking for speed in the short term.

Wendle (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day IL and is starting at second base and hitting fifth Sunday against the Red Sox.

Ji-Man Choi (calf) is banged up so Yandy Diaz slides to first base, and Daniel Robertson starts at the hot corner, opening up a spot for Wendle at second base, even with lefty (David Price) on the bump for Boston. The Rays have a handful of infielders who will compete with Wendle for playing time this season, but it's an encouraging sign that they found room for him against a same-handed pitcher.

Swanson went 1-for-3 with an two-run homer in Atlanta's 8-7 win over the Indians in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Swanson homered in the seventh inning off Dan Otero, pulling the Braves to within four runs. The 25-year-old raised his batting average to .258 and has 20 RBI for the season.

Wendle has recovered from his hamstring strain but has not yet been activated from the injured list, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Wendle is ready to play, but the Rays needed another pitcher on the roster Saturday, so the team called up Jake Faria rather than activating Wendle. The infielder may have to wait yet another day, as the Rays may choose not to activate him Sunday only to have him sit on the bench against lefty David Price.

Camargo is out of the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Indians.

He'll head to the bench for just the second time in a six-game stretch, but the 25-year-old will likely check back into the lineup for the nightcap. Camargo hasn't been a major help in the counting-stats categories this season with only one home run, no steals and three runs, but his defensive versatility and strong on-base skills should continue to earn him at least semi-regular work.

Berti's contract was purchased by the Marlins on Saturday.

Berti made his big-league debut with the Blue Jays last season, appearing in four games. He's already started at four positions for Triple-A New Orleans this season and will likely be used in a utility role during his time with the Marlins.
