Bogaerts went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and three RBI in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Rays.

The Red Sox were swept by the Rays, turning around a homestand that began with three consecutive wins over the Yankees. Despite that, Bogaerts enjoyed this stay at Fenway Park, going 15-for-34 with four home runs, four doubles and eight RBI over seven games. He leads the Red Sox with 25 home runs and 84 RBI.

Seager is not in the lineup Thursday against the Padres.

Seager will get what appears to be a routine day off following a string of 11 consecutive starts. In his place, Kris Negron is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth against lefty Joey Lucchesi.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Crawford jammed his shoulder during Thursday's game against the Phillies, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports. "There's some concern there," the skipper said.

This helps explain why the shortstop was removed from Thursday's game in the fourth inning. Crawford apparently suffered the injury while diving for a grounder. He'll be evaluated in the coming days, but it sounds like the injury could be more than a day-to-day issue.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a two-run single, a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Crawford snapped a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a single to right that brought home Aaron Nola and Kyle Seager. Crawford limped to a .167 average overall in July, but he's shown signs of life recently by hitting .276 (8-for-29) with two doubles, a triple, seven RBI, seven walks, three stolen bases and three runs over his last eight games.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs overall in a win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Adames' bat finally started to show some signs of life at the plate as July wound down, as he went 6-for-17 with a double, three homers and five of his six RBI for the month over the last five games. The modest sample of success will perhaps represent the start of a resurgence at the plate for Adames, who hit just .193 overall in July after generating an encouraging .273 figure in June.

Rojas is day-to-day after being removed from Thursday's game against the Twins due to right hip tightness, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas suffered the injury while running from first to third in the bottom of the third inning Thursday. The shortstop was 1-for-2 prior to being replaced by Yadiel Rivera. The Marlins will likely wait and see how Rojas is feeling during Friday's off day before determining his status for Saturday's series opener against the Rays.

Rojas exited Thursday's game against the Twins with an apparent lower-body injury, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

The shortstop appeared to tweak his leg while running from first to third in the bottom of the third inning and was subsequently replaced by Yadiel Rivera prior to the fourth frame. Rojas will likely be further evaluated during the team's off day Friday before his status for Saturday's series opener against the Rays is determined.

Berti (oblique) was activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Berti has been cleared to rejoin the Marlins after completing a nine-game rehab assignment, slashing .296/.333/.519 with two home runs and a stolen base. Prior to getting injured, he hit .237/.324/.373 in 22 games with the big club. Berti figures to assume a utility role during his time with the Marlins.

Wendle landed on the 10-day injured list with right wrist inflammation Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Wendle heads to the injured list for the third time this season. He's hit just .206/.274/.277 in 46 games when available. It's not clear when he's expected to return. Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) returned from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Bichette will start at shortstop and lead off Wednesday against Royals.

After batting sixth in his MLB debut Monday, Bichette unseated Cavan Biggio as the leadoff man in Tuesday's 9-2 win and reached base three times, recording two singles and a walk. The 21-year-old will once again bat atop the lineup in the series finale and could end up sticking in the leadoff role for the remainder of the season if he performs up to snuff. Handling the table-setting duties on a regular basis would be a boon to Bichette's fantasy value, as he would likely be afforded more running opportunities than would be possible batting out of the bottom half of the order.
