Story signed a two-year, $27.5 million contract with the Rockies on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

This deal will buy out the final two seasons of arbitration for the shortstop. He put together another strong year at the dish in 2019, slashing .294/.363/.554 with 35 home runs, 85 RBI and 23 stolen bases in 145 contests.

Gordon is expected to play all over the diamond in 2020, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

With Shed Long expected to take over as Seattle's primary second baseman, it sounds like Gordon will fill more of a utility role during the 2020 campaign. Gordon spent most of his time at the keystone in 2019 but also has big-league experience at shortstop and center field. The 31-year-old, who hit .275/.304/.359 with three home runs and 22 stolen bases last season, could see time in the outfield to open the upcoming campaign with Mitch Haniger unlikely to be ready for Opening Day after undergoing core surgery.

Downs has received an invitation to the Dodgers' major-league spring training, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

Downs will get a taste of big-league pitching after proving capable against his competition at High-A and Double-A in 2019. Given the Dodgers' depth, Downs -- who is not on the team's 40-man roster -- could spend all of 2020 in the minors.

Shewmake was invited to the Braves' big-league camp Wednesday.

The 21st-overall pick in last year's amateur draft, Shewmake rose all the way to Double-A in his first professional season, though he struggled to a .217/.288/.217 line there in a small sample of 14 games for Mississippi. He'll likely spend this season conquering the high minors before pushing for a big-league spot in 2021.

Perdomo was invited to big-league camp Tuesday.

Perdomo will spend a brief period with the Diamondbacks' major-league coaching staff, though he'll need some time before he joins them for good. He's yet to reach the Double-A level, though he looked good at Low-A and High-A last season, stealing 26 bases while hitting .275/.397/.364 and posting a higher walk rate (14.0 percent) than strikeout rate (13.4 percent).

Pena will take part in the Astros' big-league camp this spring, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pena capped off a productive sophomore campaign for High-A Fayetteville by hitting .317/.378/.467 in 167 at-bats. The shortstop that's been praised for his defensive ability and speed has improved at the plate with every minor-league promotion thus far. The highly rated prospect will spend a few weeks with the big-league coaching staff but is still a few seasons away from actually contending for a roster spot.

Tejada signed a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to spring training with the Blue Jays on Friday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.

The 30-year-old went hitless in nine plate appearances with the Mets last season, but he spent most of the year at Triple-A and performed well with a .326/.404/.471 slash line in 73 games. Toronto has its future middle infield in the majors with Cavan Biggio and Bo Bichette, but Tejada could carve out a role as a veteran utilityman with a strong showing in spring training.

Reyes cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, Nubyjas Wilborn of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Reyes was designated for assignment one week ago, and after going unclaimed while on waivers, he'll head to Pittsburgh's Triple-A affiliate. He should have a chance to surface in the big leagues sometime during the 2020 season after appearing in 71 games for the Pirates in 2019, hitting .203 with two home runs and 19 RBI.

Nelson was traded from the Marlins to the Yankees along with cash considerations Wednesday in exchange for Stephen Tarpley.

Nelson spent the entirety of 2019 at High-A Jupiter but experienced very little success. In 121 games, he slashed .228/.279/.296 with just four home runs. That comes after he generated an even poorer .211/.262/.280 line in 62 games at the same level in 2018.

Seager signed a one-year, $7.6 million contract with the Dodgers on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Seager's salary will nearly double in 2020, following a season in which he slashed .272/.335/.483 with 19 home runs and 87 RBI over 134 games. He'll open the season as the starting shortstop for Los Angeles.
