DeJong landed on the 10-day injured list with a non-displaced rib fracture Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

DeJong left Wednesday's game against the Brewers with what was originally referred to as side tightness. The injury was evidently more serious than that, though it's not yet clear when he's expected to return. Max Moroff was called up to take his place on the roster, though it will likely be Matt Carpenter who continues to take his place in the starting lineup, playing second base and pushing Tommy Edman to shortstop.

DeJong (side) will sit Friday against the Padres, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Crawford (COVID-19) will start Friday at Pittsburgh, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

The 34-year-old was sidelined Thursday while experiencing some side effects from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, but he'll rejoin the lineup Friday after a day off. Crawford is 7-for-21 with three homers, six walks, eight RBI and six runs over eight games in May.

Wendle is out of the lineup Friday against the Mets, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Wendle will take a seat with southpaw David Peterson starting Friday for the Mets. Kevin Padlo will start at the hot corner in the series opener for Tampa Bay.

Bogaerts went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, a home run and three RBI in Thursday's 8-1 win over Oakland.

Boston's bats slumbered over the previous three games, and Bogaerts was no exception, going 1-for-9 during the team's three-game losing skid. Making a rare start at DH, Bogaerts put the Red Sox ahead early with a two-run homer in the first inning. Despite the recent downturn, the 28-year-old shortstop is enjoying the finest season of his career. He's slashing .348/.406/.603 with eight home runs and 23 RBI over 37 games.

Diaz started at first base in place of Yuli Gurriel (illness) and went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Thursday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Rangers.

Gurriel was removed from Wednesday's game when he suddenly felt sick and got a full day off to recover. Diaz has been a jack of all trades in Houston's lineup, making his third appearance at first base Thursday.

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-2 win over the Twins on Thursday.

Anderson went yard off Michael Pineda to lead off the game. The 28-year-old leads the White Sox in runs scored (22) and stolen bases (six). Anderson is an elite hitter who provides power, average and speed. He has three multi-hit games in a row and is riding an eight-game hitting streak.

Rojas went 2-for-5 with a double, run, RBI and strikeout in a 5-1 win over Arizona on Thursday.

Rojas plated the game's first run with his third-inning single and later contributed to a three-run seventh with a double. In 11 games this month Rojas has raised his OPS from .666 to .808.

Edman went 1-for-4 with a single, a walk, a run and two stolen bases in the Cardinals' 2-0 win over the Brewers on Thursday.

Edman hit a single to lead off the game and stole second base, which led him to score on a Nolan Arenado single. The 26-year-old added another stolen base in the fifth inning and he is third in all of baseball with seven steals. He is slashing .277/.337/.381 in 169 plate appearances. In the month of May, he is batting .286 with four runs.
