Correa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

The Twins and Dodgers are wrapping up their series with a day game, so Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli likely viewed it as an ideal time to hand Correa his first rest day of the season. Jorge Polanco will slide over from second base to fill in at shortstop for Correa, who is off to a 4-for-19 start to the campaign after doubling twice in Tuesday's 7-2 loss.

Castillo went 1-for-4 in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs.

Castillo was in the lineup for the second consecutive game, playing second base while hitting fifth. Though he has not carried over his powerful performance during spring training, Castillo has five hits across his first 13 at-bats. Despite that promising start to his big-league career, Castillo appears to be on the short side of a platoon with Hoy Park at second base for the time being.

Franco went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, an RBI, a walk and two runs during Tuesday's 9-8, extra-inning win over the A's.

The 21-year-old was unable to deliver his third consecutive three-hit game, but he settled for a fourth multi-hit effort in five contests. Franco has yet to hit his first home run, but it's still been a productive start to the campaign with a .550 average, a triple, three doubles, four RBI and five runs.

Velazquez was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake and will start at shortstop Tuesday against the Marlins.

The 27-year-old missed out on the Angels' Opening Day roster but will now join the team with David Fletcher (hip) headed to the injured list. It's unclear how long Fletcher is expected to be sidelined, but Velazquez, Jack Mayfield and Tyler Wade could all see opportunities at shortstop in the meantime. Velazquez appeared in 28 games for the Yankees last year and hit .224/.235/.358 with one home run, six RBI, four stolen bases and a 33.8 percent strikeout rate.

Fletcher was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left hip strain.

Fletcher exited Monday's game against the Marlins and will be sidelined for at least the next 10 days after being diagnosed with a strain. It's unclear how long the 27-year-old will be out, but he'll be eligible to be activated for the April 22 game versus Baltimore. Tyler Wade and Jack Mayfield should see most of the action at shortstop in his absence, which could also result in more playing time at the keystone for Matt Duffy. However, Andrew Velazquez will start at shortstop Tuesday after being promoted from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Story (illness) is likely out for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Barring a dramatic turnaround in his condition leading up to Wednesday's 1:10 p.m. ET opening pitch, Story will wind up missing the entire series in Detroit and his fourth straight game overall. The fact that Story traveled with the team for the road trip is an encouraging sign, but the 29-year-old likely needs more time to regain strength after a case of the flu depleted him. Jonathan Arauz is the leading candidate to pick up another start at the keystone Wednesday.

Wendle will be on the bench Tuesday against lefty Patrick Sandoval and the Angels, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Through five games, Wendle has started against three righties and sat against two lefties. Jon Berti will handle the hot corner Tuesday.

Mateo is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Mateo will get his first day off of the season, enabling utility man Chris Owings to pick up a start at shortstop. The 26-year-old speedster has thus far proven to be a bargain for those in deeper mixed leagues who snagged him with a late-round pick. Over his first four starts, Mateo has slashed .250/.438/.333 with two stolen bases, two runs and an RBI.

Smith is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

For the second straight day, Smith will take a seat with the Rays bringing a right-handed starting pitcher (Tommy Romero) to the hill. At least for the time being, the 25-year-old rookie may have been surpassed on the depth chart at third base by Sheldon Neuse, who started in Monday's 13-2 win and went 3-for-5 with a grand slam. Prior to Monday, Smith had started in each of Oakland's first three games and went 0-for-11 with six strikeouts.

Swanson will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Atlanta is facing a left-handed starter (Patrick Corbin) for the second day in a row, but even with lefty-hitting regulars Eddie Rosario and Alex Dickerson out of the starting nine, Swanson hasn't been able to climb much in the order. Swanson didn't hit any higher than seventh in any of Atlanta's first five games, going 2-for-16 with 10 strikeouts.
