Adames (ankle) participated in batting practice and fielded grounders Tuesday but won't be activated during the upcoming four-game series in St. Louis, which begins Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 26-year-old recently said he was optimistic about being activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Thursday, but he'll be sidelined at least a few more days as he returns from a sprained left ankle. The fact Adames continues to ramp up his baseball activities is an encouraging sign, so he could be back for Monday's series opener against the Cubs.

Franco is still considered somewhat day-to-day with a quadriceps issue despite the fact the he's in the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Franco is in the lineup Tuesday after missing the last two games, but it sounds as though the Rays expect to keep managing the issue going forward. Expect a few more off days for the young shortstop than normal over the next week or so, but a trip to the injured list seems unlikely given that Franco was cleared to start Tuesday's contest.

Rojas (calf) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Tampa, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The Marlins will be without both of their preferred starters in the middle infield, as Jazz Chisholm (hamstring) joins Rojas on the bench. Erik Gonzalez will hit eighth and check in at shortstop for Rojas, who is out for a second straight game due to a sore left calf.

Franco (quadriceps) will bat second and play shortstop Tuesday against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Franco hurt his right quadriceps Friday against the Orioles and didn't start Saturday or Sunday, though he did appear off the bench in the series finale. He's ready to be a full participant following Monday's scheduled off day and will look to dig himself out of a slump which has seen him go 2-for-35 at the plate over his last 10 games.

Adrianza (quadriceps) will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Since Adrianza was moved to the 60-day injured list in late April and won't be eligible to join the Nationals until early June, he'll likely remain on his rehab assignment for the next two weeks, with a move to Triple-A Rochester expected to come at some point. For now, Adrianza will start out at Harrisburg, where he'll be able to pick up regular at-bats and prove he's recovered from the left quad strain by playing multiple spots in the field. Once he's cleared to return from the 60-day IL, Adrianza will likely displace Dee Strange-Gordon as the Nationals' top utility man.

The Cardinals promoted Winn from High-A Peoria to Double-A Springfield on Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Winn will be joined in Springfield by two of the Cardinals' other top prospects in right-handed starters Gordon Graceffo and Michael McGreevy, who were also bumped up from High-A Peoria. Over his 147 plate appearances at Peoria this season, the 20-year-old Winn produced a .349/.404/.566 slash line while going 15-for-15 on stolen-base attempts.

Edman went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Monday's 7-3 extra-inning win over the Blue Jays.

The 27-year-old came to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the 10th and drew a five-pitch walk, helping set the stage for Paul Goldschmidt's walkoff grand slam. Edman also stole his 11th bag of the season in that frame, and he's tied with teammate Harrison Bader and the Orioles' Jorge Mateo for second place in the majors in that category -- one SB behind rookie Julio Rodriguez.

Witt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to Arizona on Monday.

After Whit Merrifield led off the game with a home run, Witt followed two batters later with a solo blast of his own. The long ball was his fourth over his past 10 games. Over that span, Witt is batting .257 with five RBI, seven runs and a stolen base.

Crawford went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Mets.

Crawford gave the Giants an early lead with his two-run shot to center field in the second inning, but New York went on to score 13 straight runs to notch a blowout victory. The shortstop had been struggling entering the game, going 1-for-12 over his previous three contests. After hitting a career-high 24 long balls last season, Crawford has just four through 39 contests in 2022.

Volpe went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base for Double-A Somerset on Sunday.

Volpe has had a rough start to his first stint at the Double-A level, slashing .197/.316/.378 with a 24.5 percent strikeout rate through 155 plate appearances this season. However, he has been outstanding on the basepaths, notching 17 steals in 18 attempts. The 21-year-old has also been playing well of late, slashing .389/.500/.722 with a home run, three doubles, four RBI, four steals and a 4:3 BB:K during his current five-game hitting streak.
