DeJong went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

DeJong has carried over his power from Triple-A Memphis, homering in both games since he was recalled to the Cardinals. He's also started twice at shortstop. The 29-year-old is up to three long balls, 11 RBI, eight runs scored, three stolen bases and a .143/.213/.286 slash line through 94 plate appearances, though it appears his time in the minors has at least partially helped him get back on track.

Witt (hand) isn't believed to be dealing with a significant injury after leaving Sunday's game against the Yankees, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Witt was hit on his right hand in the top of the ninth inning and immediately replaced by a pinch runner, but he said that he was fine following his departure. The Royals didn't send him for X-rays, so he should be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's game against the White Sox.

Crawford (knee) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Crawford began a running program this week and will play five innings in Sacramento on Tuesday. He'll likely be able to ramp up his workload Wednesday and will be in the mix to rejoin the Giants as early as Thursday against the Dodgers. The team has a scheduled day off Friday, so manager Gabe Kapler said that the club could wait to activate Crawford until Saturday. Dixon Machado and Jason Vosler will serve as the Giants' top two options at shortstop while Crawford remains sidelined.

Witt exited Sunday's game against the Yankees in the top of the ninth inning after he was hit in the hand by a pitch, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Witt returned to the lineup Saturday after missing five games with a hamstring injury, but he's dealing with another injury a day later. Prior to Sunday's departure, he went 1-for-4. It's not yet clear whether the 22-year-old will be available for Monday's series opener against the White Sox.

Volpe slashed .296/.416/.592 with five home runs, nine RBI, 11 runs, seven stolen bases and a 14:9 BB:K over 19 games with Double-A Somerset in July.

Volpe's rough start to the season now seems like a distant memory, as he's brought his batting average up to .253 after it sat below .200 through his first month. More importantly, he's lowered his strikeout rate while continuing to show patience at the plate. Volpe has displayed both power and speed in his age-21 campaign, slugging 15 homers and racking up 37 steals on 41 attempts. It may not be long before he's promoted to Triple-A.

Correa went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Padres.

Correa's one-out big fly in the top of the eighth inning helped the Twins add some cushion to their 2-1 lead before the club ultimately closed the door on the win to end a three-game losing streak. The shortstop is now up to a .270 average to go along with 13 home runs on the season, but modest RBI (36) and run (42) totals to go with zero stolen bases have made Correa merely a solid fantasy option rather than a spectacular one. He'll be back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, manning shortstop while batting second.

Fletcher is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Fletcher will cede his spot in the middle infield to Andrew Velazquez for the second game in a row, despite having gone 4-for-10 with two doubles in his first three contests since returning from the 60-day injured list. Considering Velazquez has produced a lowly .487 OPS over 257 plate appearances this season, Fletcher looks like the better bet to ultimately emerge as the preferred option in the middle infield alongside Luis Rengifo.

Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

The lefty-hitting Smith will retreat to the bench while southpaw Reid Detmers takes the mound for the Angels. Fellow rookie Ezequiel Duran will pick up the start at third base in place of Smith.

Seager (lower leg) remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

He'll be on the bench for the third game in a row with a right leg contusion, and the Rangers aren't yet dismissing the possibility of the three-time All-Star requiring a stint on the injured list, per Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News. Though Grant speculates that Seager could be available as a designated hitter for Monday's game against the Orioles, an IL stint would grow likelier if the 28-year-old remains out of the lineup.

Allen will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Allen is making his third straight start and appears to be picking up more playing time at the expense of Vimael Machin, who is on the bench for the second time in three contests. If Jonah Bride re-emerges as the Athletics' primary third baseman, Allen would face less competition for reps out of the middle infield.
