Cruz went 3-for-6 with a run scored and a stolen base in an 8-7 extra-inning loss Tuesday against St. Louis.

Cruz singled in the first, third and 10th innings, scoring a run in the first and stealing a base in the 10th. It was his 11th stolen base in 15 attempts this season and fourth steal since Sept. 23. He's had multi-hit performances in six of his last eight games, posting a .429/.487/.514 slash line in 39 plate appearances in that span. He's cut down on his strikeouts over the final part of the season and has a 5:5 BB:K in his last 44 plate appearances.

Baez is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mariners.

Baez went 0-for-5 with a strikeout during Game 1 and will take a seat for the nightcap. Ryan Kreidler will replace the veteran at shortstop for Game 2.

Crawford is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Tigers, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Crawford hit leadoff in the matinee and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. Dylan Moore will take over at shortstop for Seattle in the nightcap.

Crawford is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Crawford will take a seat for Tuesday's contest with lefty Sean Manaea pitching for San Diego. Thairo Estrada will move to shortstop while Wilmer Flores mans the keystone.

Marcano was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

After being sent down in mid-September, Marcano closed the Triple-A season with a .596 OPS over 48 plate appearances. Now, with two games left in the season, the Pirates will bring on the 23-year-old infielder to close their season as well. Jose Godoy was optioned to Indianapolis in a corresponding move.

Seager is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

Seager went 2-for-4 with a double and a run during the Rangers' loss in the matinee, and he'll head to the bench for Game 2 of the twin bill. Josh Smith will move to shortstop while Kole Calhoun enters the lineup in the outfield.

Bichette is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Orioles.

Bichette, who is hitting .405 with seven home runs and four steals since the start of September, will get a much-deserved rest day. Otto Lopez is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth.

Adames is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates.

It's fitting that Adames, who leads Milwaukee's position players in fWAR (4.6) by a wide margin, will get the day off after they were eliminated from the postseason mix Monday. Luis Urias is starting at shortstop and batting cleanup.

Tovar isn't starting Tuesday against the Dodgers.

The young shortstop's major-league career has gotten off to a slow start, as he has just a .483 OPS through his first eight games. Tovar will take a seat Tuesday, which moves Jose Iglesias to start at shortstop, C.J. Cron over to designated hitter, Michael Toglia to first base, Randal Grichuk to right field and Garrett Hampson into the lineup to start in center field.

Rojas will sit Tuesday against Atlanta, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas has been playing through a wrist injury since late July and will undergo surgery Wednesday morning. He was in the lineup Monday and went 0-for-2 with a walk in what may end up being his final appearance of the year. Joey Wendle will start at shortstop Tuesday.
