Reyes (personal) is back in the lineup Friday against the Brewers.

Reyes had been away from the team since Tuesday to be with his wife and newborn child. He'll bat sixth and play left field Friday.

Edman went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs in an extra-inning win over the Cubs on Thursday.

Edman has shown a welcome penchant for meaningful contact in an impressive September, as 11 of his 20 hits during the month have been either a double (four), a triple (two) or a home run (five). Coupled with his .313 average since the calendar flipped from August, the rookie's contributions have been pivotal to the Cardinals' ongoing postseason push.

Baez (thumb) has been cleared for light baseball activity, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Baez is making progress in his recovery, and after his exam Thursday, he has been cleared to pinch run while wearing a protective glove if manager Joe Maddon elects to use him in that situation. However, Baez is not out of the woods yet, as his thumb is still preventing him from taking at-bats or playing the field. A target date for Baez to resume full activities has not been set yet, but it was reported earlier this month that he was unlikely to return before the postseason, and given where things stand with just 10 regular-season games to go, it seems likely that is still the case.

Crawford is not in Thursday's lineup against the Red Sox.

He is hitting .275 with one home run, 10 strikeouts and 10 walks in 51 at-bats this month. Mauricio Dubon will start at shortstop while Cristhian Adames starts at second base.

Swanson is not in Thursday's lineup against the Phillies.

He is hitting just .156 with zero home runs and one steal in 19 games since coming off the injured list. Adeiny Hechavarria is starting at shortstop and hitting fifth.

Edman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs in a 5-1 victory against the Nationals on Wednesday.

Suddenly, the 24-year-old is on a little power spree, as he's hit three homers in the last five games. During that stretch, he also has five RBI. Overall, Edman is batting .286 with 10 homers, 32 RBI, 48 runs and 13 steals in 283 at-bats this season.

Rojas and the Marlins agreed to a two-year contract Wednesday, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the contract buys out one year of arbitration, one year of free agency, and includes a team option for a third year.

Rojas has been a steady presence for the Marlins' infield for three years in a row, so the team decided to lock him up at least through the end of the 2021 season. With the new deal in hand, expect Rojas to open the 2020 campaign as the Marlins' starting shortstop.

Reyes left the Pirates prior to Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Mariners after his wife gave birth to the couple's first child, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Thanks to the expanded September roster, the Pirates won't have to place Reyes on the paternity list, though he'll still likely report back to the club after taking the normal 1-to-3 days off to spend time with his family. Before leaving the team, Reyes had fallen into a semi-regular role in the outfield while Starling Marte (wrist) has been unavailable.

Ahmed (finger) remains on the bench Wednesday against the Marlins.

Ahmed was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a finger issue and will wind up missing at least one more start. Domingo Leyba gets the start at shortstop.

Turner went 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run Tuesday in the Nationals' 6-2 win over the Cardinals.

Turner has been caught stealing just twice in his last 18 attempts and ranks fifth in the majors with 33 stolen bases on the season, an impressive feat considering he missed six weeks with a broken right index finger. The speedy leadoff man has seen his bat cool off in September -- he's slashing a pedestrian .269/.319/.373 on the month -- but the solid production he offers in the steals and runs categories makes him an easy selection for fantasy lineups as the season winds down.
