  • Oneil Cruz CF | PIT

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Detained by authorities in D.R.

Cruz was detained by transit authorities in the Dominican Republic on Monday after a vehicle he was driving struck a motorcycle in an accident in which three people lost their lives, Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes reports.

He was part of the Pirates' 60-man player pool but apparently had returned to his native country. Cruz was reportedly traveling outside the hours allowed by the Dominican Republic, established as a measure to counter the spread of COVID-19, so he could be punished for that violation. There will also be an investigation into his role in the accident.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Swipes two bags in loss

Rojas went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and two stolen bases in Monday's 5-4 loss to Atlanta.

The shortstop continues to be a bright spot for the surprising Marlins. Rojas is slashing .343/.439/.562, career highs by far in all three categories, with four homers, five steals, 19 runs and 19 RBI through 35 games.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Moved down to seventh in order

Baez will start at shortstop and will bat seventh Monday against the Pirates.

For the second straight game, Baez will hit seventh in the order -- his lowest lineup slot of the season. After briefly appearing to escape his season-long skid with six hits in a four-game stretch from Sept. 12 to 16, Baez proceeded to go 1-for-10 with four strikeouts during the Cubs' weekend series with the Twins. He enters play Monday with a .205/.242/.364 slash line on the season.

  • Jose Barrero SS | BAL

Reds' Jose Garcia: Remains on bench

Garcia isn't starting Monday against the Brewers.

Garcia will remain out of the lineup for the second consecutive game despite recording seven hits in his last 21 at-bats. Freddy Galvis will take over at shortstop in his place.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Up to 10 homers

Turner went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Marlins.

After a 1-for-4 showing in the matinee, Turner was back atop the order for Game 2, and he kicked off the scoring in the first inning with his 10th home run of the season. The shortstop was not running much at all early on, but he has racked up nine steals in his last 32 games. He's slashing .337/.394/.582 overall and should be an easy first-rounder in rotisserie leagues again next season.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Swats fourth career grand slam

Crawford went 2-for-5 with a grand slam, an additional run scored and a double in Sunday's 14-2 win over the Athletics.

Crawford's slam in the sixth inning off Athletics reliever J.B. Wendelken blew things wide open for the Giants' offense. It was Crawford's sixth homer of the year. The shortstop is slashing .283/.352/.483 with 23 RBI, 24 runs scored and a stolen base in 46 contests.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Not starting nightcap

Rojas is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Rojas received the start in Game 1 and went 0-for-2 with one walk. Jazz Chisholm will take over at shortstop for the Marlins.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Returns from injured list

Berti (finger) was activated off the 10-day injured list Sunday.

The 30-year-old has been sidelined since Sept. 7 with the right finger issue, but he'll rejoin the Marlins ahead of Sunday's doubleheader. Berti has a .250/.354/.354 slash line with two homers and eight stolen bases in 30 games, and he should return to his super-utility role.

  • Jose Barrero SS | BAL

Reds' Jose Garcia: Riding pine Sunday

Garcia is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

The 22-year-old's overall numbers are downright ugly, but Garcia has picked up a little momentum at the plate, recording seven hits in his last 21 at-bats. He will give way to Freddy Galvis at shortstop Sunday.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Big day at the plate

Rojas went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in a 7-3 win over the Nationals on Saturday.

Rojas took Patrick Corbin deep to lead off the first inning. Hitting atop the order for just the third time this season, Rojas led the Marlins with seven total bases, and he's 5-for-13 with three extra-base hits when batting in that slot. Over his last 15 games, Rojas is slashing .360/.418/.600.
