    Cubs' Javier Baez: Clocks two homers

    Baez went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday's 7-2 win over San Diego.

    Baez got the Cubs on the board with his two-run blast in the third inning and later tacked on an insurance run with his solo shot in the seventh. It was his first multi-homer game of the season and he's up to 13 long balls through 48 games. The 28-year-old owns an .809 OPS with 36 RBI.

    Brewers' Willy Adames: Launches seventh homer

    Adames went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

    His sixth-inning shot off Daniel Norris was his second homer as a Brewer and seventh of the season. Adames has caught fire since the trade from the Rays, hitting .324 (11-for-34) through 10 games for his new club with nine RBI.

    Cardinals' Paul DeJong: More imaging on tap

    The Cardinals plan to send DeJong (ribs) in for more follow-up imaging Thursday before determining the next step in his rehab program, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

    Since landing on the 10-day injured list May 14 with a non-displaced rib fracture, DeJong has slowly eased back into baseball activities. He's recently been able to play catch and take light swings, but the Cardinals are hopeful he'll start ramping things up by the end of the week if his imaging shows that his rib is healing as anticipated. Edmundo Sosa has stepped in as the Cardinals' everyday shortstop since DeJong was shut down with the injury.

    Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Gets breather Monday

    Ahmed isn't starting Monday's game against the Mets.

    Ahmed went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. Josh Rojas will shift to shortstop while Josh Reddick starts in right field.

    Adrianza isn't starting Monday's game against the Nationals.

    Adrianza will retreat to the bench for the third time in the last four games, even though manager Brian Snitker said Friday that the 30-year-old would play on a daily basis. Abraham Almonte will make his season debut in left field and bat sixth.

    Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Triples in win

    Ahmed went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Cardinals.

    Ahmed has been under .200 for much of the season, but the shortstop crossed that threshold after a stretch that includes three multi-hit games among his last six. He's 8-for-22 (.364) with four extra-base hits during that span.

    Braves' Ehire Adrianza: Out of Sunday's lineup

    Adrianza is not in the lineup Sunday against the Mets.

    Adrianza finds himself on the bench for the second time in the past three games despite manager Brian Snitker indicating Friday that the utility man is expected to have a daily role in left field. Guillermo Heredia will move to left while Ender Inciarte starting in center field Sunday.

    Crawford is not in the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

    Crawford is 3-for-11 with two doubles and two walks through the first three games of the series, but he'll take a seat in the finale with lefty Clayton Kershaw pitching for Los Angeles. Mauricio Dubon will start at shortstop for San Francisco on Sunday.

    Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Sits for first time

    Edman is out of the lineup Sunday at Arizona, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

    Edman started the first 52 games of the season and will receive the day off Sunday. Matt Carpenter will start at the keystone in the series finale for the Cardinals.

  • Padres' Tucupita Marcano: Recalled by Padres

    Marcano was recalled to the Padres from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

    This will mark Marcano's third stint with the major-league club this season. He's recorded six hits and four walks in 33 big-league plate appearances thus far. Right-handed pitcher Aaron Northcraft was sent to El Paso in a corresponding roster move.
