Allen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

As anticipated, Atlanta's waiver pickup of Ha-Seong Kim earlier in the week has resulted in Allen losing hold of his everyday role at shortstop. Kim will occupy the position for the second game in a row and will likely get an extended evaluation in September, leaving Allen to settle for limited playing time in a utility role. Allen offers strong defense at shortstop, but with a measly .534 OPS over 405 plate appearances on the season, he hasn't hit well enough to profile as a viable everyday player.

Devanney will start at third base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers.

Devanney will pick up a third straight start at the hot corner after the Pirates lost Isiah Kiner-Falefa to waivers Sunday. Thus far, Devanney has gone 0-for-7 with five strikeouts, so he may have a short leash atop the depth chart at third base.

Abrams is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Marlins.

Abrams will get a rare day off while he's in the midst of a 1-for-13 skid at the palte over his last four starts. Nasim Nunez will fill in at shortstop, and outfielder Daylen Lile has been elevated to the No. 2 spot in the lineup as the Nationals try to complete the sweep.

Kim went 2-for-4 in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs.

It was a nice beginning to his Atlanta tenure, as Kim got the start at shortstop and hit sixth in the order after being claimed off waivers from the Rays and activated from the IL earlier in the day. The 29-year-old infielder should be the team's starting SS for the rest of September as he tries to wrap up a tough, injury-plagued 2025 with a strong final month.

Triolo went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Dodgers.

The 27-year-old infielder was a force at the top of the lineup, producing his eighth multi-hit performance since Aug. 15. Over that 17-game stretch, Triolo is slashing .375/.485/.625 with nine extra-base hits (six doubles, a triple and two homers) in addition to five steals, seven RBI and 12 runs. While he won't maintain that blistering pace, Triolo has shown flashes of offensive upside in the past, and he could be establishing a foothold in the Pirates' 2026 plans.

Gonzalez slashed .288/.404/.455 with four home runs, 33 steals, a 16.2 percent walk rate and a 15.8 percent strikeout rate in 52 games in the Dominican Summer League.

The top teenage international prospect to sign on Jan. 15 this year, Gonzalez lived up to the hype in his pro debut. His athleticism was arguably the standout trait during his tour of the DSL, as he registered a 9.7 speed score on FanGraphs while going 33-for-38 (86.8 percent success rate) on the bases. Gonzalez only played shortstop this season and projects to stick there long term.

Atlanta activated Kim (back) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Kim was scooped up from the Rays via waivers Monday and now joins the active roster with his new club. The 29-year-old has been limited to only 24 games this season due to injury and has slashed an uninspiring .214/.290/.321 when on the field. However, Kim should operate as Atlanta's everyday shortstop down the stretch, and with a $16 million player option for 2026, he could be the team's regular at the position next season, as well.

Allen went 1-for-4 in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Cubs, and over his last 13 games he's batting just .111 (3-for-27) with a 0:10 BB:K.

The 26-year-old offers a good glove at shortstop, but Allen has never figured out how to hit big-league pitching and has a .534 OPS through 405 plate appearances this season, and a .536 OPS for his career. Atlanta claimed Ha-Seong Kim (back) off waivers from the Rays on Monday, and he's expected to take over as the team's starting shortstop once he's activated from the IL, which could happen as soon as Tuesday. Allen will likely be relegated to a late-inning defensive role after Kim joins the active roster.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk and three total RBI in Monday's 8-2 victory versus Colorado.

Adames' first RBI came on a bases-loaded walk in the fifth inning. The veteran shortstop then capped the scoring in the contest with a two-run blast in the seventh. Adames has had his power stroke working of late, belting seven home runs and driving in 13 runs while batting .341 over his past 11 games. He's up to 26 long balls on the campaign, putting him within range of his third career 30-homer season.

Perdomo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 7-5 extra-inning loss to the Rangers.

Perdomo has hit three homers and has a total of five extra-base hits over his last 10 games, going 10-for-41 (.244) in that span. The shortstop went back-to-back with Ketel Marte in the first inning to give Arizona an early advantage. Perdomo is up to 16 homers this season, two more than he had overall in the first three full campaigns of his career. He's added a .285/.385/.448 slash line with 88 RBI, 86 runs scored and 24 stolen bases across 138 contests.
