Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA
Braves' Vaughn Grissom: Returns from MiLB IL
Grissom (hip) was activated from the 7-day injured list Thursday, per the MiLB's transactions log.
Grissom ended up on the injured list Sept. 11 due to a right hip injury, but it ended up being a short absence for the second baseman. He's slashing .332/.421/.505 with eight homers, 60 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 72 runs scored over 96 minor-league contests so far this year.

Matt McLain SS | CIN
Reds' Matt McLain: Could be activated next week
Reds manager David Bell said McLain (oblique) could be reinstated from the 10-day injured list as soon as next Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Per MLB.com, McLain is expected to resume taking batting practice Monday, and if all goes well while he spends the upcoming week gradually ramping up the intensity of his baseball activities, he could get the green light to rejoin the Reds for the final week of the regular season. While McLain has been on the shelf since Aug. 28 with a right oblique strain, fellow rookie Noelvi Marte has been able to pick up more work on the left side of the infield.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Dropped to ninth
De La Cruz batted ninth and went 0-for-4 in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Mets.
De La Cruz's slide down the batting order reached its lowest point since he was called up in June. A second-half slump finally prompted manager David Bell to drop the rookie this past week. In his last four starts, De La Cruz has batted seventh, eighth (twice) and ninth. It was encouraging to see him knock a pair of hits Saturday after getting a day off Friday, but the 21-year-old's struggles continued Sunday. De La Cruz has batted .184 since the All-Star break.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Hits rare home run
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 11-10 win over the Rockies.
Crawford came through in a big way with a three-run blast off Matt Koch in the sixth for his seventh home run of the year and his first since Aug. 1. Crawford has just two extra-base hits in 40 plate appearances in September as he continues to hold down a part-time role. The 36-year-old has struggled to a slash line of .196/.276/.319 and will look to provide any spark he can as the Giants make a push for a wild card spot.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Not in Sunday's lineup
Perdomo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
Perdomo is in the midst of a 0-for-22 slump and will take a seat after starting the previous three games. Rookie Jordan Lawlar will handle shortstop and bat ninth.

Masyn Winn SS | STL
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Not in Sunday's lineup
Winn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Winn started the previous seven games and will receive a day off after going 4-for-21 during that span. Tommy Edman will shift to shortstop while Juniel Querecuto starts at the keystone Sunday.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Shines in twin bill
Tovar went 5-for-8 with a double, a triple, three runs, five RBI and a stolen base across both games of Saturday's doubleheader sweep against the Giants.
Tovar plated four runs in the matinee, three of which came on a bases-clearing triple. He added a run-scoring single in the nightcap, giving him more RBI (five) in the doubleheader than he had accumulated (four) over his first 13 games of September combined. Tovar's big day lifted his batting average this month from .220 to .276.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Resting during nightcap
Crawford will be on the bench for the evening portion of Saturday's doubleheader against the Rockies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Crawford went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks and a run scored in the afternoon game. The 36-year-old won't be asked to start two games in one day, so it will instead be Paul DeJong who handles shortstop in the nightcap.

Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Sits for third straight
Lawlar remains on the bench for Saturday's game against the Cubs.
The Diamondbacks gave Lawlar a chance to prove he can help the team down the stretch, calling up the 2021 sixth-overall pick in early September despite the fact that he'd played in just 16 Triple-A games. He's appeared in only six MLB contests thus far but looks overmatched through his first 18 plate appearances, striking out eight times while recording just two hits, both singles. WIth the Diamondbacks in as tight of a playoff race as possible -- they entered play Saturday tied for the third and final NL Wild Card spot -- it's no surprise to see the unproven Lawlar remain on the bench while Geraldo Perdomo continues to start at shortstop.
