Mondesi was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

The Royals tried to let the 21-year-old play his way out of his early-season struggles, but after going hitless in his last seven games and dropping his already low batting average to .103, he'll head back to the minors for more seasoning. Look for Whit Merrifield, Cheslor Cuthbert and Christian Colon to fight for playing time at the keystone until Mondesi returns, which could be relatively soon if the latter hits as well as he did at Triple-A last season (.304 batting average, .864 OPS).

Correa went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Angels.

Correa had missed the previous three games with a hand contusion but was back to batting cleanup for the Astros on Thursday. Hand injuries can be tricky, so don't be alarmed if he's not hitting immediately upon his return to duty.

Bogaerts received tests on his right thumb following Thursday's victory over the Blue Jays, Scott Lauber of ESPN Boston reports.

Bogaerts played the entire game Thursday, but he clearly had some discomfort after a head-first slide into second base late in the game. The current plan is for the club to evaluate him again on Friday, so specific information pertaining to Bogaerts' condition should be available then. If Bogaerts has to miss time, look for Brock Holt to fill in at shortstop.

Adrianza (oblique) will start a rehab assignment with High-A Fort Myers on Friday, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports.

He has been working out in extended spring training, but is finally ready to head out to an affiliate. Adrianza could join the the Twins' bench once his rehab is complete, but he won't be in line for regular playing time. He has no minor-league options remaining, so the Twins could face a hard decision with him at some point this season.

Correa (hand) is back in the lineup, starting at shortstop and hitting cleanup Thursday against the Angels.

He missed three games with the hand issue, but he had been available off the bench in each of the last two games and was expected to make his return in this contest. Alex Bregman moves back to third base as a result. Confidently deploy Correa in all formats.

Correa (hand) was available for Wednesday's contest if needed, according to manager A.J. Hinch, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Hinch is hopeful that Correa, who has missed three consecutive games, will be ready to play Thursday.

Urena is hitting just .211/.279/.237 with 13 strikeouts over his first 10 game at Double-A New Hampshire.

The heir apparent to Troy Tulowitzki is still packing dirt into his cleats at the Double-A level, where he played just 30 games last season, so he should show improvement as the campaign rolls along. One bright spot to Urena's rough start, though, would be that he's managed to draw four walks through 43 plate appearances. While that may sound unimpressive, it's quite the feat when considering the 21-year-old collected just four free passes over 132 plate appearances with New Hampshire in 2016. Urena ranks as the organization's No. 6 prospect, but he can't get too comfortable with the idea of one day taking over shortstop in Toronto. Bo Bichette -- the son of former MLB slugger Dante Bichette -- was drafted by the club in the second round last year, and the 19-year-old is currently shredding Low-A pitching after skipping the Rookie levels.

Correa (hand) is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Angels, however he thinks he will be back in Thursday's lineup, the Houston Chronicle's Jake Kaplan reports.

He will miss his third straight game with the injury, but it sounds like he could be ready to return for the series finale. Correa took swings Wednesday in the batting cage. Alex Bregman will start at shortstop and hit sixth in his absence.

Mondesi is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Giants, the Kansas City Star's Rustin Dodd reports.

Mondesi has provided fantasy owners with five steals and one home run in 41 plate appearances, but his .114/.162/.200 slash line leaves a lot to be desired. He will be spared the task of facing tough lefty Madison Bumgarner in this contest, with Whit Merrifield starting at the keystone and hitting sixth.

Bogaerts will start at shortstop and bat sixth in the order Wednesday against the Blue Jays, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

With Dustin Pedroia sitting out Tuesday for rest, Bogaerts was appointed to the leadoff spot for the first time all season. Bogaerts took advantage of the move up in the lineup, going 2-for-5 and scoring a run, but won't warrant consideration for a permanent spot atop the lineup so long as Pedroia is able to stay healthy.
