White Sox's Tim Anderson: Ready to go
Anderson (hamstring) was activated off the injured list as expected Tuesday.
Anderson had been on the shelf with a strained left hamstring since late August. He was on fire immediately prior to the injury, hitting .364 with four homers over his last 14 games. Danny Mendick was sent to Triple-A Charlotte to clear space for Anderson's return.

Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Homers Monday
Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a double and solo home run in Monday's 5-4 loss to Seattle.
Bogaerts and Rafael Devers went back-to-back in the eighth inning, but Boston's comeback fell short. This was Bogaerts' fourth game back after a stay on the COVID-19 injury list. The shortstop is 4-for-11 since his return.

Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Homers in win
Mondesi went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Twins.
Mondesi led off the second inning by taking Baily Ober deep to right field to put the Royals up 2-1. The home run ball snapped an 0-for-17 drought at the plate for the speedster and it was his second home run since returning from the injured list Sept. 1. The 25-year-old is now slashing .265/.286/.603 with six homers, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored, seven steals and 2:25 BB:K over 72 plate appearances.

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Expected back Tuesday
Manager Tony La Russa said he expects Anderson (hamstring) to be activated from the injured list Tuesday, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Assuming he does return Tuesday, Anderson will have missed only slightly more than the minimum 10 days while recovering from a left hamstring strain. The 28-year-old figures to get periodic rest for the remainder of the regular season as the playoff-bound White Sox try to stay healthy until October.

Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: On bench Sunday
Bogaerts is not starting Sunday's game against the White Sox, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
It appears to be a regular day off for Bogaerts, who's gone 2-for-6 with three walks in two games since returning from the COVID-19 injured list. Jose Iglesias is starting at shortstop and batting ninth Sunday.

Yankees' Andrew Velazquez: Sent to minors
The Yankees optioned Velazquez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
The shortstop cedes his roster spot to Sunday's spot starter Clarke Schmidt. Velazquez enjoyed some nice games at the plate, but his .234/.246/.375 slash line in 65 plate appearances with the Yankees suggests he may have seen his final big-league action of 2021.

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Blasts 23rd home run
Bichette went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 11-2 win in Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Orioles.
Bichette slammed a two-run homer in the seventh inning off Keegan Akin, sparking an 11-run inning. He ended up scoring twice in that inning. The shortstop has eight hits and two home runs in his last four games. He is slashing .292/.342/.463 with 23 long balls, 87 RBI, 107 runs and 22 steals in 608 plate appearances for the season.

Rays' Joey Wendle: Pops homer No. 10
Wendle went 2-for-4 with a triple, a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Tigers.
He took Bryan Garcia deep to lead off the fourth inning, giving the Rays a 4-1 lead at that point. Wendle is slashing .345/.387/.586 through nine games to begin September, and he's already established new career highs with 10 homers and 65 runs on the season.

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Returns to lineup
Mateo (undisclosed) is starting the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.
Mateo remained out of the lineup for Saturday's matinee as he continued to deal with soreness, but he'll start at shortstop and bat sixth in the nightcap. He went 3-for-17 with two RBI, a stolen base and a walk in the five appearances prior to his absence.

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Launches eighth homer
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.
The veteran shortstop left the yard for the second time in as many games with a leadoff homer to right field. Crawford has now reached safely in 10 straight games, a stretch during which he's hitting .341 (14-for-41) with two doubles, two homers, seven RBI, seven walks and 10 runs.
