Bichette went 1-for-4 with a two-run single in Friday's 6-4 win over the Twins.

Bichette struck out in his first two plate appearances, but he got the better of Bailey Ober in the fifth, when his single to center field brought Ernie Clement and Andres Gimenez home. That single extended Bichette's hitting streak to 10 games, and over that span he has gone 13-for-40 (.325) with four home runs and 12 RBI.

X-rays and a CT scan on Volpe's left elbow came back negative after he was pulled from Friday's game against Boston, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Volpe took a pitch off his elbow during the second inning, though it doesn't seem like he suffered any structural damage as a result. The Yankees may elect to give him a day or two off to recover, but a trip to the IL likely won't be necessary.

Volpe was removed from Friday's game against the Red Sox with a left elbow contusion.

Volpe took an 89-mph changeup off his elbow in the second inning of Friday's contest. He remained in the game initially but was eventually replaced in the fourth. The Yankees are still awaiting the results of imaging on Volpe's elbow.

Henderson isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Henderson will get a breather during Friday's series opener after going 3-for-13 with a homer and five strikeouts during Baltimore's last series against the Mariners. Jorge Mateo will fill the vacancy at shortstop and bat ninth.

Rainer will undergo season-ending surgery after dislocating his right shoulder during Single-A Lakehead's win over Daytona on Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The 19-year-old shortstop suffered the injury while diving back to first base on a pick-off attempt. After receiving multiple opinions, the injury was determined to be severe enough to necessitate surgery, but Rainer is expected to be fully healthy for the start of spring training. He'll end the season with a .294/.383/.452 slash line with nine steals, five home runs and 22 RBI across 149 plate appearances in Single-A.

Correa (back) is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Correa will miss a third consecutive game due to back tightness, but he could be available as a pinch hitter in Friday's series opener. Brooks Lee will start at shortstop and bat fifth.

Sweeney is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.

It's the fourth absence in Detroit's past six games for Sweeney, who appears to have fallen out of a regular role with the Tigers getting the likes of Parker Meadows and Wenceel Perez back from the injured list over the past couple weeks. Zach McKinstry and Javier Baez have both received starts at shortstop over the last week, with Baez getting the nod Friday while McKinstry mans third base. Sweeney has been unable to get on track offensively this season with a .222/.279/.312 slash line through 60 games.

Genao (shoulder) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Double-A Akron on Friday.

Genao, who turned 21 in May, generated buzz in the spring by growing an inch over the offseason and showing up to spring training much stronger, but a sprained right shoulder sidelined him for the first two months of the campaign. He slashed .308/.438/.654 with three home runs over eight rehab games in the Arizona Complex League.

Pena went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base during Thursday's 8-2 win over the Pirates.

Pena turned in his first performance of the season with multiple two-baggers and showed off his speed in a different way by swiping his 11th base of the year. The 27-year-old shortstop has been a tough out lately, batting .432 (19-for-44) with four doubles, three home runs and six RBI over a 12-game hit streak.

Smith went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Rays.

Smith was caught stealing on his first attempt of the game, but he found success on his second try. The utility player has upped his speed productivity lately, swiping three bags while going 8-for-28 (.286) over his last seven games. He's at a .266/.333/.397 slash line with five home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs scored and eight steals on 11 attempts through 54 contests this season. Smith continues to find a place in the lineup without having a set position -- he's seen time at first base, third base, shortstop and designated hitter in the last week alone.
