Ragans allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Wednesday.

Ragans held New York scoreless until Juan Soto tagged him for a two-run homer in the sixth inning. That put the left-hander in line for the loss, but the Kansas City offense took him off the hook with a run in the following frame. Overall, Ragans pitched well, recording 13 whiffs en route to seven punchouts and notching his second straight quality start. Ragans has at least seven strikeouts in six of his past seven outings and ranks second in the majors with 211 punchouts on the season.

Estes (7-7) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out two over 6.2 innings to earn the win over the Astros on Wednesday.

Estes logged his third quality start in his last five outings and avoided giving up a home run for the first time since July 26. The right-hander hasn't allowed more than four runs in any of his last 11 appearances. He's pitched to a 4.36 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 88:24 K:BB over 117.2 innings through 22 outings (21 starts) this season. Estes is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Cubs.

Brown (11-8) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out seven over five-plus innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Athletics.

Brown had not allowed more than two runs in any of his previous six starts before this setback. The Athletics tagged him for two runs in the third inning and added three more in the sixth, with the last of those runs crossing the plate when Caleb Ferguson allowed an inherited runner to score. Brown is now at a 3.59 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 168:56 K:BB through a career-high 158 innings over 29 appearances (28 starts). His next start is projected to be at San Diego.

Gil allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Wednesday.

Gil did well in the contest, but he needed 97 pitches to get through five innings and thus didn't last long enough to pick up a second straight quality start. The right-hander has looked good since returning from a stay on the 15-day injured list, allowing just one run while posting a 12:4 K:BB over 11 innings. That's great news for the Yankees as the postseason looms, as Gil has been one of the team's best starters this year with a 3.18 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 156:70 K:BB over 135.2 frames.

Fried (9-9) took the loss against Washington on Wednesday, allowing four runs on 11 hits and no walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Fried kept the Nationals off the scoreboard through two frames, but he gave up at least one run in each of the following three innings. The 11 hits allowed by the southpaw tied a season-worst mark, and the outing snapped a five-game streak of yielding three or fewer runs. Fried did at least manage to continue to eat up innings, as he's now gone at least six frames in four of his past five starts.

Williamson allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Williamson completed five innings for the first time in his three appearances (two starts) since he returned from a shoulder injury that cost him five months to begin the year. He's been good so far, allowing four runs (three earned) over 13 innings while posting an 11:3 K:BB. The lone blemish on his line Wednesday was a solo home run by Nolan Arenado. Williamson is tentatively projected to make his next appearance at home versus Atlanta.

Irvin (10-12) earned the win over Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings.

Irvin retired the first 10 batters he faced and was working on a no-hitter until Atlanta finally got to him for consecutive doubles in the sixth inning. The right-hander emerged with his first quality start since Aug. 13, which was also the date of his most recent win prior to Wednesday. Irvin had been struggling prior to this excellent outing, as he had surrendered 13 runs across 9.2 frames in his previous two starts. He's fallen off in the second half after a strong beginning to the campaign, but he still has 10 wins and a tolerable 4.19 ERA overall.

Lynn allowed one run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over five innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Wednesday.

Lynn pitched for the first time since the end of July after missing nearly six weeks with right knee inflammation. He was sharp in his return, throwing 62 of 90 pitches for strikes and limiting the Reds to a Santiago Espinal RBI single in the fourth inning. Lynn has had middling results this year, though he was improving prior to the injury. The 37-year-old is now at a 3.96 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 104:42 K:BB through 111.1 innings over 22 starts this season. Lynn is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates.

Kochanowicz (2-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over 5.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Twins.

A three-run fourth inning was enough to send Kochanowicz to his second straight loss. He had posted five straight quality starts before Wednesday's outing fell short of that threshold. The rookie right-hander is now at a 5.08 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB through 44.1 innings over eight starts. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the White Sox in his next outing.

Matthews allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over 3.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Wednesday.

Matthews gave up solo home runs to Taylor Ward and Nolan Schanuel in this contest. This was just the second time Matthews has walked multiple batters over six major-league starts, but he's also been tagged for eight homers. He is at a 7.11 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 27:5 K:BB through 25.1 innings. His next start is tentatively projected to be at Cleveland.
