The Guardians selected Velasquez's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Velasquez is being promoted even after he posted a 6.00 ERA and 11:16 K:BB over 15 innings covering four starts with Columbus. He appears likely to be used only in mop-up duty.

The Mets transferred Manaea (oblique) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Manaea has yet to make his 2025 debut after straining his oblique during the spring. He resumed playing catch earlier this month but appears to still be eyeing a return to the Mets in June.

Atlanta recalled Smith-Shawver from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

The right-hander will rejoin Atlanta for his fourth MLB start of the season in the wake of Spencer Strider (hamstring) returning to the injured list. Smith-Shawver has a 4.61 ERA, 1.98 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB across 13.2 innings this season and has posted similar numbers for Gwinnett with a 4.82 ERA in two outings.

The Orioles recalled Gibson from High-A Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Gibson is set to make his season debut for the Orioles on Tuesday against the Yankees. The veteran right-hander had been getting ramped up with three starts in the minors after signing with the Orioles in late March, allowing six runs (five earned) with a 13:2 K:BB over 12 innings. Gibson threw 78 pitches and went five innings in his last start with Aberdeen, so he should be able to handle around 90 pitches Tuesday.

Forret was removed Tuesday from his start with High-A Aberdeen due to low-back discomfort, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. He struck out three and allowed two earned runs on one hit and one walk in two innings prior to exiting.

One of Baltimore's top lower-level pitching prospects, Forret can be viewed as day-to-day but could require a stint on Aberdeen's 7-day injured list if he's unable to make his next turn through the rotation. The 21-year-old righty had entered Tuesday's outing with a 0.92 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB in 19.2 innings through his first four starts of the season.

Misiorowski posted a 0.00 ERA, 0.45 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB in 11.0 innings over his last two starts with Triple-A Nashville.

Walks have long been a concern in regards to Misiorowski's prospect status, and after issuing 10 free passes over his first three starts of the season, he generated only a trio of base on balls over his last three trips to the mound. If he has indeed turned a corner in the control department, it may not be long before he is plying his trade in Milwaukee.

Cabrera didn't factor in the decision against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing five runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out two batters over four innings.

Cabrera allowed a constant stream of baserunners, and the nine hits against him marked a season-worst tally. The right-hander failed to miss many bats, notching just three whiffs and two punchouts after recording at least five strikeouts in each of his first three starts this season. Cabrera hasn't been able to pull things together so far this season, as he now carries an ugly 7.23 ERA and 1.77 WHIP through 18.2 innings across four starts.

May allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters in 5.1 innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

May appeared to be en route to a win after completing five scoreless innings, but things took a turn for the worse for him in the sixth. In that frame, the right-hander allowed the first three batters he faced to reach base, and they all came around to score before the inning was over (though two of the runs charged to May crossed the plate following his departure). This was still a better performance for May after he gave up a career-worst seven runs over five innings against the Cubs in his previous trip to the mound, but over his past two contests, May's ERA has jumped from a sparkling 1.06 to a less-impressive 3.95.

Feltner (0-2) took the loss against Atlanta on Monday, allowing five runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings.

Feltner was handed a three-run lead after half an inning, but he couldn't hold onto it. The righty did manage to make it through two scoreless frames, but Atlanta struck for two runs in the third inning and another in the fourth before Michael Harris chased Feltner with a two-out, two-run double in the fifth. All told, Feltner gave up a season-high 10 hits, and this was the second time in his past three appearances that he's yielded five runs. Feltner did have a bit of bad luck Monday -- five of Atlanta's 10 hits left the bat at less than 75 mph -- and he was at least able to grind through 95 pitches after having his start pushed back from Sunday due to back tightness.

Elder (1-1) earned the win over Colorado on Monday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over six innings.

Elder got off to a rocky start when he fell behind on a three-run homer by Hunter Goodman in the first inning, but the righty hurler bounced back and didn't allow another run for the remainder of what ended up being a quality start. He wasn't overpowering in the outing, notching just seven whiffs and four punchouts, but Elder's performance was good enough to net him his first victory of 2025. His ERA still stands at a poor 5.33, but Elder has been better of late, giving up a combined four runs across 12 frames over his post two starts.
