Chris Sale SP | ATL
Braves' Chris Sale: Fans eight Yankees for win No. 10
Sale (10-2) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on one hit and three walks over five innings in an 8-1 victory over the Yankees. He struck out eight.
A Jahmai Jones triple in the second inning was the only knock on Sale's line as the veteran lefty fanned at least seven batters for the eighth time in nine starts since the beginning of May. Over that stretch, he's posted a 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 74:9 K:BB through 55 innings en route to becoming the third pitcher in the majors this season to reach double-digit wins, after the Phillies' Ranger Suarez and the Royals' Seth Lugo. Sale will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week in St. Louis.

Colin Rea SP | CHC
Brewers' Colin Rea: Yields five runs
Rea allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.
This was the first time all year Rea's failed to log a strikeout, and it's just the third time in 15 appearances (13 starts) he's been on the hook for five runs. The right-hander's poor outing has him at a 3.62 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 54:26 K:BB through 82 innings. Rea is projected to make his next start at home versus the Rangers.

Dylan Cease SP | TOR
Padres' Dylan Cease: Strikes out 10 in short start
Cease allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Friday.
Cease has failed to complete five innings in three of his last seven starts. He labored in this one, throwing 68 of 106 pitches for strikes while posting double-digit strikeouts for the second time this year. The right-hander is at a 4.14 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 116:28 K:BB over 91.1 innings through 16 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Nationals.

Landon Knack SP | LAD
Dodgers' Landon Knack: Shows well in return to majors
Knack allowed two hits and two walks while striking out two over five scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Friday.
Knack put in a strong effort, but the Dodgers' offense was unusually quiet. He left the game with a 2-0 lead, only for Ryan Yarbrough to cough it up in the sixth inning. Knack has a 2.10 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB over 25.2 innings across five starts in the majors this season. With both Yoshinobu Yamamoto (shoulder) and Walker Buehler (hip) landing on the injured list in the last week, Knack has a chance to establish himself in the Dodgers' rotation, as Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) and Dustin May (elbow) are likely to be rehabbing into July. However, with three of the next 10 days off, the Dodgers can get by with a four-man rotation for the rest of the month, so it's unclear if Knack will get the opportunity it looks like he's ready for.

Davidjohn Herz P | WAS
Nationals' DJ Herz: Lackluster start in Colorado
Herz allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits over 3.2 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out five during a win over the Rockies.
All four runs against Herz came on three homers as he stumbled in his first career appearance at Coors Field. Entering Friday's start, he'd given up only one long ball through 14.1 innings to begin his MLB tenure. Herz fired a 13-strikeout quality start against Miami on June 15 but has totaled just 12 innings in his other three outings. He's sporting a 4.50 ERA with a strong 26:5 K:BB through 18 innings. Herz is in line for a start in San Diego next week.

Dakota Hudson SP | LAA
Rockies' Dakota Hudson: Hammered for eight runs
Hudson (2-10) allowed eight runs on 11 hits and two walks over three-plus innings while taking a loss against the Nationals on Friday.
Hudson kept Washington scoreless for two innings before an ugly five-run third inning. The Nationals piled on four more runs in the fourth, with three of them being charged to Hudson. He's lost three straight starts while posting a 7.20 ERA during that stretch, bumping his season ERA to 5.63 through 76.2 frames. Friday's performance was his shortest outing of the year and the most runs he's allowed in a start. Hudson's next matchup is expected to come on the road against the White Sox.

Jordan Montgomery SP | TEX
Diamondbacks' Jordan Montgomery: Earns third straight win
Montgomery (6-4) earned the win against the Phillies on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six innings.
Montgomery tossed two scoreless innings before surrendering a two-run home run to Trea Turner in the third. He responded with three straight scoreless innings and left the game with a 4-2 lead after throwing 83 pitches. Montgomery earned his third consecutive win while registering his first quality start in June, but he has not reached 90 pitches in an outing since May 19. On the season, Montgomery owns a 5.71 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 44:22 K:BB over 63 innings and lines up to face the Twins next week.

Taijuan Walker SP | PHI
Phillies' Taijuan Walker: Allows three homers in loss
Walker (3-3) took the loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts over four innings.
Walker allowed three home runs, including back-to-back homers by Gabriel Moreno and Joc Pederson in the third inning. Walker generated only four swings on 77 pitches, including just one whiff with his splitter. The right-hander has failed to record a win or quality start since May 11 and owns a 5.60 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 43:21 K:BB over 53 innings. He lines up to face the Tigers next week.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Set for rehab start Tuesday
Kershaw (shoulder) will make his second rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Kershaw made his first rehab outing with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out five over three innings. His fastball reached 90 miles per hour, which was right around his velocity during the 2023 regular season. Kershaw will need multiple rehab outings before joining the Dodgers' rotation, which could happen around the All-Star break in mid-July.

Michael Burrows SP | HOU
Pirates' Mike Burrows: Rehab moved to Single-A
Burrows (elbow) had his rehab assignment transferred from the rookie-level Florida Complex League to Single-A Bradenton on Friday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Burrows continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery in April 2023. He made his first rehab outing in the FCL on Monday, when he gave up three runs on one hit and two walks over 1.1 innings. Burrows is expected to start for Bradenton early next week.
