The Marlins recalled Bellozo from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Bellozo will make a spot start Monday against the Mets in place of Sandy Alcantara, who was placed on the paternity list. The right-handed Bellozo held the Pirates to one run over 4.1 innings in a start on March 29 but will face a better lineup this time around. He's likely to be sent back down to the minors after the game.

The Marlins placed Alcantara on the paternity list Monday.

Alcantara had a scheduled start Sunday versus Atlanta rained out and he will now likely miss the full three-game set against the Mets that begins Monday before rejoining the rotation Friday versus the Nationals. Valente Bellozo was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Monday in New York.

Triple-A Louisville placed Phillips on the 7-day injured list due to shoulder fatigue, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

Phillips enters 2025 with a lot to prove, beyond his health, as he walked batters at a 15.3 percent clip at Triple-A in 2024 after walking 13.5 percent of the batters he faced in the majors in 2023. He has the stuff for late-inning work, but he would still need to improve his control to succeed in a high-leverage relief role.

High-A South Bend placed Gray on the 60-day injured list due to a shoulder injury, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.

Injuries and inefficiency have limited Gray to 118 pro innings since he was drafted in the third round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft. The 21-year-old lefty logged a 4.39 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 97:73 K:BB in 80 innings across 22 starts last year at High-A.

Double-A Knoxville placed McCullough on the 60-day injured list with a forearm injury, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.

Knee and lat injuries limited McCullough to 14.2 innings in 2024, and now he'll miss at least a good chunk of 2025 with this forearm injury. The 24-year-old righty has the tools to start, but durability is becoming an issue that could push him to the bullpen long term.

The Cardinals optioned Graceffo to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

As expected, Graceffo's stay with the big club lasted just one day after he was named the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader with the Red Sox. Graceffo helped save the bullpen by eating three innings in the Cardinals' 18-7 loss in the second game of the day, during which he surrendered seven earned runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out two.

Cabrera (finger) covered four innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out six in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Jacksonville.

Cabrera built up to 53 pitches in his second rehab outing with Jacksonville. Though Cabrera has long been plagued by control problems, he hasn't issued a walk in either of his rehab starts, which have covered seven innings. Cabrera is eligible to come off the 15-day injured list this week, but the Marlins may want to see him get stretched out a little bit more in one final rehab outing before adding him back to the big-league rotation.

Harrington could piggyback Carmen Mlodzinski during Monday's game against the Cardinals, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Harrington has remained on the Pirates' active roster since his ill-fated major-league debut last Tuesday against the Rays, but the team hasn't revealed concrete plans for his usage. It would make sense for him to follow Mlodzinski on Monday, as Mlodzinski still isn't fully stretched out to start after spending most of the last two seasons as a reliever. Harrington yielded six runs over four innings last week versus the Rays.

Floyd (shoulder) made his 2025 debut with Single-A Daytona on Saturday, covering two innings and striking out two while allowing two earned runs on two hits and one walk.

The appearance also marked the professional debut of Floyd, the No. 38 overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft. After tossing 91 innings during his final season of college at LSU, Floyd was held out of game action in 2023, and he then missed time due to an elbow injury last spring before undergoing shoulder surgery sometime shortly thereafter. The 23-year-old was fortunate to avoid any setbacks this spring, and though he's now healthy to begin the 2025 campaign, the Reds will likely monitor his innings closely throughout the season.

Cox (elbow) made his season debut for Single-A Fresno on Friday, striking out three over two scoreless innings while giving up one hit and two walks.

Cox made an abbreviated start in what was his first minor-league outing since July 9, 2023, but he could increase his pitch counts in his subsequent appearances. He missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
