King (3-1) took the loss Friday against the Rays after allowing one unearned run on four hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out nine.

King was impressive despite being saddled with his first loss Friday, generating 14 whiffs en route to his third outing this year without giving up an earned run. The lone run scored by Taylor Walls went unearned due to a Xander Bogaerts throwing error to open the third inning, and the right-hander fanned at least seven in his third straight start. King boasts a 2.18 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB over 33 innings this season, setting him up as a strong fantasy option in a soft matchup versus the Pirates for his next scheduled outing.

Sanchez (forearm) felt fine after playing catch Friday and will throw a bullpen session Sunday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Sanchez was pulled from his start Tuesday against the Mets due to forearm soreness, an issue which is sometimes the first sign of a problem serious enough to require Tommy John surgery. While that worst-case scenario probably remains in play, the news has been largely positive since Tuesday. He felt better enough by Wednesday that the Phillies elected not to send him for an MRI, and he was allowed to throw just three days after the initial incident. If Sunday's bullpen session causes no further issues, he could wind up avoiding the injured list, though he won't start Tuesday against the Nationals as previously scheduled.

Senga did not factor into the decision Friday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out five.

Senga hadn't allowed a run in three straight starts (17.2 innings) coming into Friday. He gave up two runs in his first three innings before blanking the Nats over his final three frames, securing a quality start. Senga's ERA sits at a sparkling 1.26 with a 1.05 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB through his first five outings (28.2 innings) this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks in his next start.

Irvin did not factor into the decision Friday against the Mets, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over 7.1 innings. He struck out four.

Irvin held the Mets off the board through seven innings before the Nats' bullpen allowed an inherited run to score in the eighth. The 28-year-old Irvin has been stellar in his last three outings, allowing just three runs on 11 hits across 20.2 innings in that span. His ERA is down to 3.19 through six starts (36.2 innings) this year with a 1.01 WHIP and 31:8 K:BB. Irvin will look to keep rolling in his next outing, tentatively scheduled for next week in Philadelphia.

Walker (1-2) took the loss against the Cubs on Friday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over three innings. He struck out four.

Walker at least managed to limit the Cubs to two runs despite dealing with traffic throughout the start. Still, the right-hander was only able to make it through three innings on 86 pitches after he was removed from his previous start with shoulder stiffness. Walker still holds a respectable 2.78 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB through five starts (22.2 innings) this year. He's currently lined up to face the Nationals at home in his next outing.

Rea (1-0) earned the win Friday over the Phillies, allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Making his second start in place of Justin Steele (elbow), Rea turned in five strong innings against the Phillies en route to his first win of the season. The 34-year-old Rea has gotten off to a nice start this year, both as a starter and out of the bullpen. His ERA is down to 0.96 with a 1.07 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB across 18.2 innings. Rea's currently slated to face the Pirates on the road in his next outing.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that an MRI on Snell's left shoulder revealed "no new findings," and the 32-year-old southpaw will receive an injection to help treat the inflammation, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

Snell was shut down from his throwing program Tuesday after suffering a setback. He's been on the 15-day injured list since April 6 due to left shoulder inflammation, and what was once hoped to be a brief stint on the IL has become more complicated. How Snell's shoulder reacts to the injection will determine the next steps in his rehab program.

The Diamondbacks recalled Diaz from Triple-A Reno on Friday.

The right-hander is one of Arizona's top prospects and will receive a look in the majors after beginning the campaign at the Triple-A level. Diaz has a 5.82 ERA and 19:15 K:BB across five starts with Reno this year but is likely to work out of the bullpen while up with the Diamondbacks.

Weathers (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday, Fish on the Farm reports.

It's not clear what affiliate Weathers will be assigned to, but he is ready to pitch in games after suffering a left flexor strain late in spring training. The left-hander had been hoping to rejoin the Marlins' rotation in the first week of May, and while that might be optimistic, his recovery shouldn't take much longer than that. Weathers is coming off something of a breakout 2024 in which he posted a 3.63 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 16 starts.

The Padres recalled Bergert from Triple-A El Pason on Friday.

Kyle Hart was demoted to El Paso on Thursday with the Padres having three scheduled off days over the next two weeks, eliminating their need for a fifth starter in the short term. Bergert will instead provide depth in the bullpen. The right-hander is one of the organization's top prospects and was in the rotation at Triple-A, so a good performance could put him in the mix for a starting job once the team's schedule gets tighter.
