Heaney (3-4) allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two over five innings to take the loss Monday versus the Diamondbacks.

After allowing a total of four runs over 16 innings across his last three starts, Heaney took a significant step back in this outing. He gave up a pair of home runs, which accounts for the last three runs on his line in one of his worst starts of the season. The southpaw has also walked at least three batters in five of his last six appearances. He's at a 3.41 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 44:24 K:BB over 60.2 innings across 11 starts this season. Heaney's next outing is projected to be at San Diego.

Sheehan (elbow) was sent to the Arizona Complex League to begin a rehab assignment Monday, per MLB's transactions log.

It was recently reported that Sheehan would likely be ready for a rehab assignment at some point in June, but he appears to be ahead of schedule. The 25-year-old was initially placed on the 15-day injured list March 17 before being transferred to the 60-day IL later that month while continuing to work back from Tommy John surgery with an internal brace procedure. Expect Sheehan to make several minor-league appearances as he begins to build back up from a significant injury.

Rodriguez (shoulder) is expected to make another rehab appearance before being activated from the 15-day injured list, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Rodriguez emerged from Saturday's 55-pitch simulated game feeling strong, but the club wants to see him stretch out a bit further before bringing him back from the injured list. The team has yet to disclose whether the southpaw will be sent out on a minor-league rehab stint or if he'll toss another sim game later in the week before presumably being activated during the upcoming road trip, which begins June 3 in Atlanta.

Martinez (3-5) recorded the win Monday against the Royals after allowing three runs on six hits and no walks in seven innings. He struck out two.

Martinez continue his strong run on the hill, posting his sixth straight quality start. The right-hander has fanned three or fewer four times during this stretch, but he's issued just four walks overall and given up one run or fewer on four occasions. Martinez owns an excellent 2.13 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 22:4 K:BB across his last 38 frames, but he'll face a very difficult task in his next scheduled outing at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

Perez (elbow) is set for another rehab start Wednesday at Triple-A Jacksonville, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Perez endured a rough outing in his first rehab start Thursday, surrendering two runs on three hits while issuing three free passes across 3.1 frames. However, he clearly had his swing and miss stuff working, retiring seven of 10 batters via strikeout. The club has yet to establish a concrete timeline for Perez's return, but an early-to-mid-June activation appears likely.

Padres manager Mike Shildt said Monday that Hart will be recalled from Triple-A El Paso to start against the Marlins on Wednesday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

The Padres will turn to Hart to fill in the spot in the rotation vacated by Michael King (shoulder), who was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday. After breaking camp as a member of the San Diego rotation, Hart went 2-2 with a 6.00 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 21 innings over five starts before before being optioned to Triple-A in late April. The lefty has turned in a 3.07 ERA over his three starts with El Paso since his demotion, but he's supported the ERA with an ugly 1.55 WHIP and 12:12 K:BB over 14.2 innings.

The Pirates recalled Ashcraft from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Ashcraft has started in all 10 outings in Triple-A this season, but the 25-year-old right-hander will serve in a bulk relief role out of the Pirates' bullpen, per Alex Stumpf of MLB.com. Ashcraft has a 4.84 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 56:19 K:BB across 48.1 innings in Triple-A this season, and his first appearance with the Pirates will be his major-league debut. Isaac Mattson was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Fedde (3-4) took the loss in Monday's contest at Baltimore. He allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk over five innings with five strikeouts.

The St. Louis right-hander generated a solid 14 whiffs out of 91 total pitches to tally his third outing with five or more Ks this season over 11 total starts. The Orioles lineup did most of their damage when center fielder Dylan Carlson cracked a three-run homer off Fedde in the fourth. Across 62.1 total innings, Fedde has pitched to a 3.90 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 39:26 K:BB. The 32-year-old is currently slated to make his next start at Texas this weekend.

Taillon (4-3) earned the win Monday against the Rockies, allowing one run on four hits and no walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

The Chicago right-hander took care of business against a Colorado lineup that entered the contest with a league-worst .220 team batting average. The only blemish on Taillon's performance was a solo homer yielded to Mickey Moniak in the fifth. Through 63 total innings, Taillon has pitched to a 3.86 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 51:12 K:BB. He is currently scheduled to make his next start against Cincinnati at home this weekend.

Palmquist (0-3) took the loss in Monday's game against the Cubs. He conceded two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings with four strikeouts.

The rookie southpaw held his own in Wrigley Field during this 92-pitch outing, producing his best work yet after allowing 11 earned runs over his first two starts. Palmquist limited the Cubs to just one extra-base hit as the pair of runs scored via a Dansby Swanson groundout in the first and a Kyle Tucker single in the fifth. With this effort, Palmquist lowered his ERA from 11.88 to 8.78 across 13.1 total innings. Things won't get easier for the 24-year-old, as he lines up to make his next start at the Mets this weekend.
