Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Activated ahead of start
Freeland (groin) was officially activated from the disabled list and will start Tuesday's game against Atlanta.
Freeland comes off the disabled list after only missing the minimum amount of time. He will be looking to improve on his already impressive rookie season numbers (3.70 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 121.2 innings) when he makes his first career start against the Braves.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Could return Saturday
Strasburg (elbow) could return to the big-league rotation Saturday in San Diego if things go well over the next few days, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.
He was sharp in a rehab start Monday for High-A Potomac, allowing one run over 66 pitches (five innings). Strasburg will need to have everything go well during his normal between-starts routine, but we could get confirmation regarding his status for this weekend on Thursday or Friday. While he has been on the shelf since July 23, Strasburg should be deployed in all formats once he is activated, especially if it comes against a mediocre Padres offense.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Starts throwing program
Wheeler (arm) resumed throwing off flat ground over the weekend, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
The Mets shut Wheeler down for nearly three weeks with a stress reaction in his right arm, but it appears that he'll now attempt to ramp things up again in anticipation of returning from the 10-day disabled list later in the season. Given the amount of time he's already missed, Wheeler will almost certainly require a rehab assignment after he's been cleared to face hitters, likely meaning that he won't be activated until September.

Zack Greinke SP | KC
Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Spins 6.2 innings of shutout ball
Greinke (14-5) picked up the win Monday against Astros, covering 6.2 innings and conceding five hits and two walks while striking out nine batters in the 2-0 victory.
Three of Greinke's strikeouts came against MVP candidate Jose Altuve, with the former Cy Young winner mixing all four of his pitches effectively throughout the evening. The Arizona ace is now sporting a 10.1 K/9 rate for the season, just a shade below the career-best mark he established with the Royals in 2011. That improvement has allowed him to shave more than a run off his ERA this season following a disappointing debut campaign with the Diamondbacks.

Vince Velasquez RP | KC
Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Has tests Monday
Velasquez underwent more tests Monday on his injured right middle finger, including a magnetic resonance angiogram, Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Velasquez said last week that he had bruising on his finger and wasn't sure of the cause. The Phillies have yet to announce the results of the test or provide a timeline for Velasquez's return. Mark Leiter has taken his spot in the rotation for now.

Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Takes no-decision against Padres
Eickhoff allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision Monday against the Padres.
Eickhoff has been steady in recent weeks, as he has now gone five straight starts without allowing more than three runs, a stretch in which he has gone 2-0. The major limiting factor for Eickhoff's fantasy value is his inability to go deep into games, largely due to his poor control. He walked three batters and has walked 12 in his past 28.2 innings. Until he can find a way to tighten things up, he'll keep running into high pitch counts like the 92 he threw in just five innings Monday night.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Blanks Rockies through seven at Coors
Teheran pitched seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts during Monday's loss to Colorado. He didn't factor into the decision.
It's never wise to overreact to a start at Coors Field, but normally that's because pitchers underperform at the hitter-friendly venue. This was one of a few bright spots for Teheran this season, as he sports a disappointing 4.98 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 7.1 K/9 for the campaign. It's become difficult to count on the former fantasy stalwart, and Teheran's dynasty/keeper stock is probably now at an all-time low. He projects to face the Reds at SunTrust Park in his next outing.
-
Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Grabs third win with Cubs
Quintana (7-10) allowed two runs -- one earned -- on four hits and four walks while striking out four batters through five innings while earning Monday's win over Cincinnati.
While this was another mediocre outing from Quintana, he limited the damage and took home the victory, so there are positives to take away. He's now 3-2 with Chicago and sports a 4.26 ERA and 9.5 K/9 for the campaign. Pitching for a contender should help his fantasy outlook moving forward, and the lefty lines up to face the Blue Jays at Wrigley Field in his next start.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Sharp in rehab start
Strasburg tossed five innings and allowed one run on three hits over 66 pitches in a rehab start Monday at High-A Potomac, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
Strasburg was scheduled for 75 pitches but was efficient enough to get through five innings well under his pitch limit. Considering how sharp he was Monday, there doesn't seem to be much reason for continuing his rehab assignment. Expect Strasburg to make his return at some point during this weekend's series against the Padres.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: To make rehab start Thursday
Ray (concussion) will make a rehab appearance at High-A Visalia on Thursday, Fox Sports Arizona reports.
Ray had a successful simulated game on Saturday and will be taking the ball on normal rest when he makes his rehab appearance. If all goes well on Thursday, expect that to be his only rehab appearance, with a return to the majors possible at some point during next week's series against the Mets.
