  • Vance Worley SP | NYM

Reds' Vance Worley: Reassigned to minor-league camp

Worley was reassigned to minor-league camp and will not make the Reds' Opening Day roster, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Worley will not break camp with the team after signing a minor-league deal back in January. He is set to start the 2018 campaign at the Triple-A level as a reliever and serve as organizational depth moving forward. In 24 appearances with the Marlins last season, Worley posted a 6.91 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over 71.2 innings.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Cubs' Jose Quintana: Finishes spring with scoreless performance

Making his final tuneup start before the regular season, Quintana tossed three scoreless innings in Tuesday's Cactus League loss to the Red Sox.

Quintana finishes spring training with a strong 2.45 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 18.1 innings. The left-hander was somewhat up and down after joining the Cubs via trade last July, but he's hoping that more time working with catcher Willson Contreras will allow him to be more consistent in 2018. Quintana is slated to start the team's fourth game of the season in Miami and should be a strong fantasy option this year.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Has strong spring with new team

Darvish finished his first spring training in a Cubs uniform with a 2.79 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.

The Cubs made a big splash in signing Darvish during the offseason and the prized righty looked like an ace this spring. He'll slot in as the Cubs' No. 3 starter behind Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks out of the gates, but he could very well end up as the team's top pitcher from a fantasy perspective if he stays healthy.

  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: All systems go

Taillon threw three shutout innings Tuesday against the Phillies, striking out four while allowing two hits and no walks.

He registered a 2.13 ERA in 12.2 Grapefruit League innings. More importantly, he's healthy after missing two months in 2017 battling testicular cancer. Ivan Nova will start the opener Thursday in Detroit, but there's little doubt the organization is looking toward Taillon as its ace. The 26-year-old has totaled only 237.2 career innings due to medical issues, but is poised for a breakout season -- if he can stay healthy.

  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Enhanced repertoire heading into '18

Wacha, who recorded six strikeouts over four scoreless innings in which he allowed three hits and a walk in a Grapefruit League win over the Blue Jays on Monday, is successfully wielding a four-pitch arsenal heading into the regular season, Heather Engel of MLB.com reports.

Wacha feels he's gotten his curveball up to snuff this spring, while his cutter has continued to come along as well. Combined with his fastball and changeup, the right-hander heads into 2018 with a four-pitch arsenal that he's confident he can deploy at any point in the count. Manager Mike Matheny shares Wacha's enthusiasm, especially after seeing him generate a solid 3.32 ERA in 19 innings across five exhibition appearances. "Any time you add anything else to his pitches, it makes that changeup [even more useful]," Matheny said. "The fastball, he's elevating it as good as I've ever seen him do it."

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Likely secures bullpen spot

Senzatela will likely open the season in the Rockies' bullpen, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

With Zac Rosscup (finger) expected to open the season on the disabled list, Senzatela appears to be in line to secure the team's final bullpen spot. The 23-year-old, who failed to lock down a rotation spot despite a strong showing in camp (1.62 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 16.2 innings), will likely serve as a long reliever. He could ultimately be sent back to the minors if the Rockies want to keep him stretched out.

  • Brett Graves SP | ATH

Marlins' Brett Graves: Opening season on DL

Graves (oblique) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Graves suffered a left oblique strain earlier in March, and the issue remains bothersome enough to keep the right-hander sidelined through Opening Day. At this point, it's still unclear when the Rule 5 pick may be ready to return, but a timetable should emerge once he's able to resume throwing.

  • Tyler Anderson SP | LAA

Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Starting second game

Anderson will start the Rockies' second game of the season Friday against the Diamondbacks, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Rockies manager Bud Black officially set the club's rotation Tuesday for the season-opening series, with the left-handed Anderson being sandwiched between two righties in Jon Gray and German Marquez. Anderson's development as a big-league starter has been stunted by health issues over the past three seasons, but he looked like one of the more dependable members of the Colorado rotation when available in 2017, delivering a strong 81:26 K:BB in 86 innings. Incidentally, his numbers at Coors Field (4.14 ERA, 0.87 HR/9) were far better than his marks on the road (5.44 ERA, 2.4 HR/9), so owners in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues may have to think twice about benching him in home matchups.

  • Zack Greinke SP | KC

Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Electric in final tune-up start

Greinke (groin) threw 55 of his 75 pitches for strikes and blanked the Indians over six one-hit innings Monday in the Diamondbacks' 7-0 exhibition victory.

Per Steve Gilbert of MLB.com, Diamondbacks skipper Torey Lovullo said that he'll wait and see how Greinke looks during a bullpen session Wednesday before locking the right-hander in as the starter for the finale of Arizona's season-opening series with the Rockies on Sunday. If his outing Monday was any indication, Greinke is no longer experiencing any soreness in his right groin and is ready to roll for his third season in the desert.

  • Tyler Mahle SP | ATL

Reds' Tyler Mahle: Roughed up in final tuneup

Mahle was knocked around for six runs on 10 hits over four innings in his final spring training start against the Rangers in Arlington, the Dayton Daily News reports.

Mahle didn't strike out any Rangers and even his outs were frequently hit hard. Mahle will start the Reds' third game against the Nats. Hopefully this is just a glitch and not a portent of things to come.
