  • Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA

Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Evens record with win

Lucchesi (8-8) picked up the win against the Mariners on Wednesday, giving up three earned runs on six hits over five innings. He struck out three and walked two as the Padres eventually prevailed 5-4.

The left-hander didn't work deep into the game but he still managed to bag his eighth win after his teammates staked him to a three-run lead. The left-hander now has a 3.67 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP through 115.1 innings this season -- numbers he'll take into his next start against the Giants on Tuesday.

  • Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA

Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Solid in loss to Brewers

Hendricks (11-11) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk over five innings while striking out five as the Cubs fell 5-1 to the Brewers.

As per usual he pounded the zone, throwing 55 of 77 pitches for strikes, but a lack of run support doomed Hendricks to just his second loss in his last nine starts. The right-hander has a sharp 2.96 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 51:7 K:BB in 54.2 innings over that stretch, and he'll look to continue his resurgence Monday on the road against the Diamondbacks.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Early exit in no-decision against Cubs

Anderson didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Cubs, allowing two hits and three walks over four scoreless innings while striking out four.

The Brewers were up 2-0 after four innings, but with the NL Central lead almost within the team's grasp manager Craig Counsell took no chances, pinch hitting for Anderson to lead off the fifth inning and denying the right-hander a chance for his 10th win of the year. He'll take a 3.85 ERA into his next start Tuesday at home against the Reds.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Takes fifth loss

Nola (16-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk over five innings while striking out five as the Phillies fell 5-1 to the Nationals.

The right-hander has now lost two of his last three starts after going seven straight outings without an L, and Wednesday's start marked the first time in over a month that Nola failed to strike out at least eight batters. He'll carry a 2.42 ERA to the mound Tuesday in a home clash against the Mets.

  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Fans nine in win over Phillies

Strasburg (8-7) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits over seven innings while striking out nine in a 5-1 victory over the Phillies.

The right-hander has looked like his usual self over his last four starts, posting a 2.55 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB in 24.2 innings. Strasburg will look to keep things rolling in his next start, which is lined up for early next week in Miami.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Brewers' Wade Miley: Start pushed back

Miley will start Monday against the Reds, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Miley was originally lined up to start Sunday's series finale against the Pirates, but he'll switch places in the rotation with Jhoulys Chacin. The southpaw will now face the Reds, who he has fared well against in two starts this season, posting a 1.35 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with 10 strikeouts across 13.1 innings.

  • Jon Gray SP | TEX

Rockies' Jon Gray: Gives up four over four innings

Gray allowed four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over four innings in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Gray had trouble keeping the ball in the park, allowing a two-run home run to Eduardo Escobar in the third inning and a solo shot to Alex Avila in the fourth. The 26-year-old was bailed out of a loss thanks to some late-game heroics in the walkoff win, and he's now avoided the loss column dating back to June 12. Gray has been pitching better over the second half of the season, but he's now gone just four innings in consecutive outings and has struggled some with command and control, walking seven in that span. He'll get a chance to bounce back Monday against the Dodgers.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Quality start in no-decision

Corbin allowed three runs on 10 hits while striking out seven over 6.1 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies. He did not factor into the decision.

The 10 hits were a season high and included five-extra base hits (four doubles and a home run), but Corbin was still in line for the win until a ninth-inning bullpen meltdown. The lefty has struck out at least seven batters in 10 straight outings, sporting a terrific 81:9 K:BB in that span and is now working to 11.1 K/9 on the year. He'll take a 3.05 ERA into Monday's game against the Cubs.

  • Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Fires seven strong en route to 13th win

Taillon (13-9) picked up the win Wednesday against the Cardinals, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four across seven innings.

Taillon settled in after allowing a run-scoring single to Marcell Ozuna in the first inning, firing six scoreless frames before exiting in the eighth inning with two runners on and no outs. One of those inherited runners came around to score, but Felipe Vazquez was able to slam the door and secure the victory for Taillon, his fourth straight. The right-hander owns an impressive 2.16 ERA and 25:3 K:BB across those four outings. Next up will be a home start against the Royals.

  • Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Tagged for six runs in loss to Dodgers

DeSclafani (7-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out five across 4.2 innings.

DeSclafani actually retired the first nine batters he faced before serving up a solo shot to Joc Pederson to lead off the fourth inning. He proceeded to allow another three runs on a pair of singles, a pair of doubles and three walks before exiting with two outs and two runners on. Both inherited runners came around to score, one of which was unearned thanks to an error from Scooter Gennett. DeSclafani has now struggled to an 8.03 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB across three starts (12.1 innings) this month. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, which will come on the road against a tough Brewers team.
