  • Zach Davies SP | WAS

Brewers' Zach Davies: Continues to struggle with homers

Davies (8-7) allowed four runs on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts across four innings while taking a loss against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

The 26-year-old ran into homer trouble again, as he allowed two long balls in a start for the fourth time in his last five outings. During that stretch, which dates back to July 23, he's lost five straight games and posted a 7.77 ERA. The losing streak has dropped him to 8-7, and he now owns a 3.90 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 85 strikeouts in 131.2 innings this season. Davies will attempt to bounce back again Saturday at the Cubs.

  • Robbie Ray SP | SD

Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Throws five scoreless in win

Ray (11-7) pitched five shutout frames while allowing three hits with four walks and six strikeouts to earn a victory against the Brewers on Sunday.

The 27-year-old was sharp in his first start returning from a back injury, which knocked him out almost a couple of weeks. Dating back to before the injury, he's yielded just three runs in his last 13 innings. Ray hasn't lost this month and owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP with 193 strikeouts in 147 innings this season. He is scheduled to make his next start Saturday at home against the Dodgers.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Yanked in second inning

Senzatela (8-8) allowed six runs on five hits and two walks over 1.2 innings Sunday, striking out one batter and taking the loss against St. Louis.

Senzatela allowed six runs and failed to get out of the second inning for the second straight outing with his last MLB action coming on July 20. His ERA shot up to 6.75 with an unsightly 54:47 K:BB over 94.2 innings. If he gets another turn in the rotation, he'll face the Pirates at home Friday.

  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Yields three runs in short outing

Wacha allowed three runs on six hits and two walks over 4.2 innings Sunday, striking out seven in the win over Colorado. He did not factor in the decision.

Wacha was wildly inefficient Sunday, needing 113 pitches in his 4.2 innings of work. This marked the most pitches he's thrown since April 16, and his ERA bumped up to 5.24. Looking for his first win since July, he'll face the Reds at home Saturday.

  • Logan Webb SP | SF

Giants' Logan Webb: Allows two homers

Webb yielded four runs on six hits and two walks over 4.2 frames Sunday, striking out two batters in the win over Oakland. He did not factor in the decision.

Webb struggled in the second inning, allowing three runs, including a solo shot to Mark Canha who hit two long balls on the day. It was a disappointing outing for the 22-year-old rookie after he struck out seven and allowed just one run in his MLB debut. Should he get another shot in the rotation, Webb will likely see the Padres at home Saturday.

  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Reaches 200 K's with 10 on Sunday

Strasburg allowed two runs on five hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out 10 in the win over the Cubs. He did not factor in the decision.

Strasburg reached double-digit strikeouts for the first time since July 3, giving him 201 in 171 innings this season. He gave up a solo homer to Addison Russell in the fifth inning; he's coughed up seven long balls in August after giving up none in the month of July. He'll carry a 3.63 ERA into next Sunday's home matchup against Miami.

  • Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA

Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Earns ninth victory

Lucchesi (9-7) earned the win against Boston on Sunday, tossing five innings and giving up one run on three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Lucchesi allowed a solo home run to J.D. Martinez in the fourth inning but was otherwise in control, throwing a first-pitch strike to 14 of 20 batters and limiting the Red Sox to five total baserunners. With the win, the 26-year-old upped his record to 9-7 and carries a 4.11 ERA and 1.17 WHIP along with a 132:46 K:BB in 138 innings this season. He'll head to San Francisco to face the Giants on Saturday in his next scheduled start.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Cubs' Cole Hamels: Takes no-decision Sunday

Hamels allowed two runs over five innings and did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 7-5, 11-inning loss to the Nationals. He gave up seven hits and a walk, while striking out three.

Hamels kept the Cubs in the game with Stephen Strasburg also allowing just two runs in his outing, though the Chicago lefty needed 97 pitches to get through five innings, which kept him from having a shot at a quality start. Hamels lowered his ERA to 3.73, and he'll look to go a little deeper into the game his next time out Saturday against the Brewers.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Brings home another win

Keuchel (5-5) gave up four hits and three walks while striking out seven over seven scoreless innings on the way to a win Sunday against the Mets.

Keuchel fired a first-pitch strike to 16 of the 26 batters he faced on the day and was pulled with 111 pitches after seven strong innings of work (68 strikes). He's now picked up wins in back-to-back outings, improving his ERA from 4.39 to 3.78 during that stretch.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Takes loss despite solid outing

Nola (12-4) was handed the loss after surrendering three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over seven innings Sunday against the Marlins.

Nola tossed five scoreless frames before giving up three runs in the sixth inning, which was enough offense for the Marlins to emerge with the victory. He fired 65 of his 97 pitches for strikes in the 3-2 loss. The 26-year-old continues to turn in solid pitching performances, as he's now held the opposition to three or fewer runs in each of his last five starts.
