  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Could join rotation Monday

Urena (COVID-19) could be activated from the injured list to start Monday's game against the Braves, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

After testing positive for COVID-19 in late July, Urena was cleared to resume working out at the Marlins' alternate training site Aug. 15. Though the right-hander has seemingly built his arm back up following the shutdown, he's been sitting in limbo at the alternate site since Miami didn't have a spot available for him in the rotation. Urena looks poised to get a start in the near future, however, as the Marlins will have an opening after Elieser Hernandez exited his outing Tuesday against the Blue Jays with right lat soreness. The Marlins haven't decided whether Hernandez will require an IL stint, but manager Don Mattingly already suggested Hernandez won't be ready to go when his next turn comes up Monday.

  • Ian Anderson RP | ATL

Braves' Ian Anderson: Strong effort in win

Anderson (2-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 10-3 victory over the Red Sox, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

While Atlanta's bats gave him plenty of run support, Anderson didn't need most of it as he held Boston in check over 96 pitches (61 strikes). The rookie has been a godsend for the team's banged-up rotation, delivering quality starts in both his trips to the mound so far with a 2.25 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB through 12 innings. Anderson will look for his third straight win in Sunday's home outing against the Nationals.

  • Jon Gray SP | TEX

Rockies' Jon Gray: Shelled by San Francisco

Gray (2-4) took the loss against the Giants on Tuesday, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing seven runs on nine hits while striking out one.

It was an ugly day overall for Colorado's pitching staff, which yielded 23 total runs and saw its most effective effort come from a catcher (Drew Butera, who allowed one run in 1.2 innings). Gray took much of the damage, surrendering three runs in the first frame, two more in the second and another pair in the third before his outing mercifully ended. Four of the nine hits Gray gave up went for extra bases, including a pair of home runs off the bat of Alex Dickerson. Gray was coming off a strong start in his previous outing, but he has struggled overall in 2020, posting a 6.69 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 39 innings. Once a reliable source of punchouts -- he averaged at least one whiff per inning in each of the past four seasons -- the right-hander has seen his strikeout rate topple to a career-low 13.4 percent this season due, in part, to losing a couple ticks off his fastball and slider. Gray will try to get back on the right track when he faces the Padres in San Diego on Monday.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

Giants' Kevin Gausman: Gets plenty of support in win

Gausman (2-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Colorado, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out five.

It was a relatively easy outing for the veteran hurler given the 23 runs of support San Francisco put on the scoreboard in the rout. Gausman stuck around just long enough to qualify for the win, throwing 87 pitches and allowing only two hits -- both of which were homers off the bat of Garrett Hampson. Gausman will next face Arizona at home Monday.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Delivers eight-inning gem

Nola (4-2) earned the win Tuesday against the Nationals after giving up two hits with nine strikeouts and three walks over eight scoreless innings.

The 27-year-old delivered his best outing of the season as he completely shut down Washington's offense. Nola has a 2.45 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB through 43 innings and will look to replicate this performance Sunday against the Mets.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Dealt tough loss

Corbin (2-3) took the loss Tuesday in Philadelphia after giving up two runs on five hits with two strikeouts and three walks over five innings.

It certainly wasn't the left-hander's best outing, but he was going to have a difficult time avoiding the loss regardless with the offense providing zero run support. Corbin has a 3.79 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB through 40.1 innings and will look to get back in the win column Sunday in Atlanta.

  • Kwang Hyun Kim SP | STL

Cardinals' Kwang-Hyun Kim: Delivers five scoreless frames

Kim (2-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Reds after allowing three hits with four strikeouts and two walks over five shutout innings.

The left-hander probably could have returned for another inning as he finished at 85 pitches, but there was no need to push it with the Cardinals already up 11-0 after five innings. Kim has been lights out in his three starts, allowing only nine hits with 10 strikeouts and three walks across 17 innings. He'll try to add another start to his impressive run Sunday against the Cubs.

  • Alex Wood RP | ATH

Dodgers' Alex Wood: Scoreless inning in return

Wood (shoulder) struck out two and hit a batter in a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Wood pitched in the eighth inning, and aside from hitting Tim Locastro with a pitch, it was a clean return to action for the 29-year-old southpaw. Wood will function in a relief role going forward, with the ability to make spot starts if necessary. He's not likely to make much of a fantasy impact working out of the bullpen.

  • Julio Urias SP | LAD

Dodgers' Julio Urias: Earns win with six strong innings

Urias (3-0) allowed one run on four hits and struck out five over six innings in a win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

The only damage on Urias' line was a solo home run by Carson Kelly in the third inning. The other three hits he allowed were singles. Tuesday also marked the second time in seven starts Urias didn't walk a batter. The 24-year-old southpaw has a 3.27 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 29 strikeouts through 33 innings this season. He lines up for a home start versus the Rockies on Sunday.

  • Sonny Gray SP | BOS

Reds' Sonny Gray: Records only two outs

Gray (5-2) was charged with the loss Tuesday against the Cardinals after recording only two outs and giving up six runs on five hits with one strikeout and three walks.

The 30-year-old was unable to make it out of the first inning as he delivered only 17 of his 38 pitches for strikes. Gray entered Tuesday's game with only nine runs allowed through seven starts, but the short outing made a significant dent in his numbers. The right-hander has a 3.19 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 56:18 K:BB through 42.1 innings and will look to get back on track Sunday in Pittsburgh.
