  • Braves' Touki Toussaint: Hammered for eight runs

Toussaint (0-2) allowed eight runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks over 2.2 innings Monday, striking out two batters and taking the loss against Baltimore.

Toussaint allowed a run in the first inning before the Orioles began teeing off in the third inning. After allowing five runs through 2.2 innings, he left the game with the bases loaded and was charged with three more runs that scored on Luke Jackson. The 24-year-old's season ERA is up to 8.88 in 24.1 innings. With Cole Hamels (triceps) returning this week, Toussaint will likely move to a bullpen role.

  • Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Struggles in return to rotation

DeSclafani gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven over 4.2 innings during Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against Pittsburgh. He didn't factor into the decision.

DeSclafani surrendered a run in the first, one in the fourth and two in the fifth, but his team would rally for three runs in the fifth, ultimately resulting in a 9-4 victory. He struggled to work ahead in the count, throwing first-pitch strikes to just 12 of the 22 batters he faced. DeSclafani owns an ugly 7.28 ERA and 1.75 WHIP with a 23:15 K:BB over 29.2 frames this year.

  • Mitch Keller SP | PIT

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Surrenders three in return

Keller gave up three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out four over three innings in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Reds. He didn't factor into the decision.

Keller found trouble in the second and third innings, surrendering three runs on a pair of home runs before exiting. He was likely on a short leash, with his last start dating back to Aug. 1 due to an oblique injury. He'll carry a 5.06 ERA and 1.59 WHIP with seven strikeouts over 10.2 frames into his next outing.

  • Huascar Ynoa SP | LAA

    Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Starting Tuesday

Ynoa will start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Ynoa is set to make his third start of the 2020 campaign. He owns a 6.75 ERA and 1.91 WHIP with an 11:12 K:BB over 14.2 frames.

  • Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Struggles in loss to Marlins

Velasquez (0-1) took the loss to the Marlins on Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk across 3.2 innings. He struck out five.

Velasquez earned himself the start after striking out nine in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Sept. 8. He wasn't nearly as sharp Monday, however. He did not allow a baserunner in the first, but gave up a run in the second, two in the third and one more in the fourth. The rough outing brought his ERA up to 6.46 on the season. It's unclear if Velasquez will stick in the rotation going forward, but if he does, he'll likely take the ball Saturday against Toronto.

  • Pablo Lopez SP | MIN

Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Bounces back to pick up win

Lopez (4-4) picked up the win Monday against the Phillies, allowing one run on three hits across seven innings. He fanned six and did not issue a walk.

It was a dramatic turnaround for Lopez after being tagged for seven runs in just 1.2 innings Sept. 10. The right-hander was close to flawless after allowing a home run to Andrew McCutchen to leadoff the ball game, allowing just two hits while not issuing a free pass the rest of the way. The 24-year-old picked up his fourth win and dropped his ERA to 4.02 on the season. He will look to carry his momentum into his start against Washington on Saturday.

  • Chris Paddack RP | TEX

Padres' Chris Paddack: On track to start this week

Paddack (ankle) completed a bullpen session Monday and appears on track to start either Wednesday in San Diego against the Dodgers or Friday against the Mariners in Seattle, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Paddack was removed from his previous start Sept. 11 after two innings due to a sprained right ankle, but the Padres don't seem overly concerned about the injury. Thanks to an off day Thursday to go along with a bullpen that hasn't been overtaxed during the team's seven-game winning streak, the Padres have the luxury of taking a cautious approach with Paddack and waiting until Friday to use him if he's healthy. If manager Jayce Tingler decides to go that route, the Padres could treat Wednesday as a bullpen game, with former rotation member Joey Lucchesi being the top candidate to eat most of the innings.

  • Kwang Hyun Kim SP | STL

Cardinals' Kwang Hyun Kim: Dazzles again in return from IL

Kim allowed three hits and three walks across seven scoreless innings during the loss to the Brewers in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

Kim was activated from the injured list ahead of Monday's start after not pitching for almost two weeks because of a kidney issue. The left-hander showed no signs of rust, however, punching out six Brewers while not allowing an earned run in his fourth consecutive outing. Unfortunately, the rookie had to settle for a no-decision after Ryan Helsley blew the save in the eighth inning. The 32-year-old will take a sparkling 0.63 ERA into his start against the Pirates on Saturday.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Picks up second win

Peralta (2-1) picked up the win in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, allowing one unearned run on one hit while pitching the eighth inning.

Tyler O'Neill started the inning on second base and later came around to score on Tommy Edman's two-out single. Peralta was not charged with an earned run and the Brewers rallied for a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning to give him his second win of the season. The right-hander holds a 3.80 ERA across 23.2 innings on the campaign.

  • Drew Smyly SP | CHC

Giants' Drew Smyly: Starting in Seattle

Smyly will start Wednesday's game against the Mariners, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Smyly tossed four innings out of the bullpen Thursday against the Padres after returning from the injured list, and he's evidently shown that he's ready to enter the rotation. The southpaw owns a 2.92 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 19 strikeouts over 12.1 innings so far this season.
