Darvish allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out seven across six innings Tuesday against the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.

Darvish bounced back from a rough Opening Day outing by firing six strong innings. His only blemish on the evening was surrendering a solo home run to Brandon Crawford in the third, as he otherwise held the Giants to a couple of singles. The Padres unfortunately weren't able to give him much run support, so he was unable to qualify for the win. However, he should have a good chance for another dominant performance in the series opener against the Pirates on Monday.

Kershaw (1-1) earned the win against Oakland on Tuesday, pitching seven innings and allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out eight.

Kershaw struggled in a loss at Colorado on Opening Day, but he bounced back in a big way Tuesday, almost completely shutting down Oakland after yielding a pair of hits and a run in the first inning. The left-hander threw 61 of his 91 pitches for strikes and induced 21 swinging strikes -- his most since September of 2017, per Dodger Insider. Of those 21 whiffs, 16 came on sliders, the third-highest mark of his storied career. Kershaw will face Colorado for the second time this season in his next scheduled start Tuesday, but it's fair to expect better results than on Opening Day since the upcoming outing will be at Dodger Stadium.

Marquez tossed six innings against Arizona on Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five. He did not factor in the decision.

Marquez breezed through four scoreless innings before faltering near the end of his outing, allowing a run in the fifth frame and two more in the sixth. Still, it was a positive outing overall for the right-hander given the ballpark and the fact that he was able to notch a quality start. Marquez will toe the mound again Sunday when he faces the Giants in San Francisco.

Anderson (0-1) took the loss Tuesday, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings in an 8-4 to the Mets.

The veteran right-hander didn't pitch badly while throwing 49 of 80 pitches for strikes and only made one real mistake, which Dominic Smith deposited in the seats for a two-run shot, but the Phillies weren't able to level the score and take him off the hook for the loss. Anderson lines up for a road rematch with the Mets on Monday.

Stroman (1-0) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over six innings in an 8-4 victory over the Phillies. He struck out three.

The right-hander got taken deep by Didi Gregorius in the fourth inning but otherwise was in control, tossing 53 of 85 pitches for strikes en route to his first quality start of the year. Stroman will look to keep rolling in his next outing, set for Sunday at home against the Marlins.

Alcantara (0-1) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks over six innings as the Marlins fell 4-2 to the Cardinals. He struck out 10.

The right-hander has come firing out of the gate, delivering two straight quality starts with a 17:4 K:BB in 12 innings to begin the season, but Alcantara doesn't have a victory to show for it. He'll look for win No. 1 in his next outing, set for Sunday on the road against the Mets.

Peralta (1-0) allowed one hit and four walks while striking out eight across five scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Cubs.

Peralta appeared as a reliever on Opening Day, but Tuesday marked his first start of the campaign. He flashed tremendous swing-and-miss stuff, racking up 17 swinging strikes across 91 total pitches and limiting the Cubs to just one extra-base hit. The only downside to his performance was his control, as the four free passes helped balloon his pitch count and limit him to five frames. Nevertheless, the outing was overwhelmingly positive for Peralta, who lines up to make his next start Monday in a rematch against the Cubs.

Smyly gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk over six innings during Tuesday's 6-5 loss at Washington. He recorded eight strikeouts and did not factor in the decision.

The left-hander was dealt two unearned runs after an error during the second inning, but he remained in line for the victory until the bullpen surrendered a run in each of the final two frames to blow the game. Nonetheless, it was a solid Atlanta debut for Smyly, and he'll attempt to perform similarly Sunday versus the Phillies.

Kim (back) threw 68 pitches over five innings during a simulated game Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The 32-year-old is now set to rejoin the team, though that doesn't necessarily mean he's set to be activated from the injured list. Kim is closing in on his return from the back injury but could need one more simulated game before being cleared for his season debut.

Miley (1-0) cruised against the Pirates on Tuesday, throwing six scoreless innings while striking out six, giving up two hits and one walk to pick up the win in a 14-1 rout.

The Reds' bats exploded in support of Miley on Tuesday, making this a chance for an easy win, which he capably converted. He'll get his next turn in the rotation Monday against the Giants.
