Gray (1-0) earned the win Thursday after holding the Diamondbacks to one run on two hits and four walks while striking out five across 6.2 innings.

Despite an average fastball of 92.8 mph -- well down from his usual average of 94 mph -- Gray worked in his slider to make things unpredictable. It clearly worked, as the 29-year-old gave up just one run for the second time this season (both at Coors Field) and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. He also recorded his 700th career strikeout, good for fifth all-time on the Rockies leaderboard. Next up, Gray heads to Los Angeles on Wednesday for a rematch with the Dodgers. Last time out, he held the Dodgers to one run across five innings, striking out seven.

Kelly (0-2) took the loss against the Rockies on Thursday, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and no walks with one strikeout across six innings.

It was ugly from the start, as Kelly's first five batters reached with hits to give the Rockies an early 3-0 lead. The 32-year-old eventually settled down a bit, retiring 11 consecutive batters, but he unraveled once again in the sixth frame, serving up a three-run homer to Dom Nunez. On the bright side, Kelly showed good control and made it through six innings after lasting only four frames in his first start against the Padres. The right-hander will look to bounce back in a home contest Tuesday against Oakland.

Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak said that Kim (back) will pitch one more simulated game before being activated from the 10-day injured list, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Kim covered five innings and 68 pitches in his most recent simulated game Tuesday, so he'll presumably get back on the mound for his final tuneup outing Sunday or Monday, likely pushing up his pitch count into the 80-to-90 range. That timeline would allow both Daniel Ponce de Leon and John Gant to pick up one more start apiece, though one of the two will likely cede his spot in the rotation to Kim at some point late next week.

Senzatela (1-1) earned his first win of the season Wednesday against the Diamondbacks after tossing eight scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

The difference between Senzatela's first outing and this one was night and day. The 26-year-old induced 14 groundball outs and allowed runners to get into scoring position on only three occasions. Despite his first two starts coming at Coors Field, Senzatela has yet to surrender a home run through 11.1 innings. Unfortunately, he doesn't whiff many hitters, as he currently sports a 10.2 percent strikeout rate, so he'll need to continue inducing weak contact to maintain fantasy relevance.

Alcantara's next start has been pushed back one day to Monday instead of Sunday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The Marlins are off on Friday, and instead of keeping Alcantara and the rest of the rotation on schedule, they'll use that day off to give them an extra day of rest. They haven't announced Sunday's starter, but De Nicola suggests that it could be either Braxton Garrett or Daniel Castano, both of whom are at the Marlins' alternate training site.

Lopez (0-1) allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six across 6.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Lopez held the Cardinals off the board until the seventh inning, when he surrendered a two-run home run to Yadier Molina. The result was a tough-luck loss, as Jack Flaherty also pitched very well opposite him. Lopez hasn't flashed a ton of swing-and-miss stuff early on -- he generated nine swinging strikes on 99 total pitches Wednesday -- but has still allowed only two earned runs across 11.2 frames while posting a 10:4 K:BB in two starts. He'll draw a tough assignment in his next outing, which is currently projected to come Monday at Atlanta.

Snell allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out eight across five innings Wednesday against the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.

Snell allowed a two-run home run in the second inning but otherwise had little trouble with the Giants. Though his four walks stand out, three of his free passes came in the fourth inning -- one of which was intentional. Even with that inefficiency, Snell needed only 87 pitches to retire 15 batters. Through two starts with the Padres, he's allowed two earned runs across 9.2 innings while racking up an 18:6 K:BB. Snell currently lines up to make his next start Tuesday at Pittsburgh.

Gausman allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out five across seven innings Wednesday against the Padres. He did not factor in the decision.

Gausman kept the deep Padres lineup in check, limiting them to only four singles in his seven frames. It was his second tremendous start in as many outings this season, as he's combined to allow two earned runs with a 11:3 K:BB across 13.2 frames. Though he has yet to to earn a win, Gausman has been able to pitch deep into games, which should give him plenty of opportunities for victories as the season progresses. He's currently lined up to make this next start Tuesday at home against Cincinnati.

Nola didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Mets, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out five.

The right-hander was mostly able to handle the traffic he put on the bases, but Nola ran his pitch count up to 92 (59 strikes) and was forced to exit before he could benefit from another big offensive showing by the Phillies. Nola has a 2.53 ERA and 11:2 K:BB through his first 10.2 innings this season, and he'll look for his first win of the season in a road rematch with the Mets on Tuesday.

Peterson (0-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Mets fell 8-2 to the Phillies, coughing up six runs on seven hits and two walks over four-plus innings. He struck out five.

The southpaw got his 2021 off to a shaky start as he served up first-inning homers to Rhys Hoskins and Alec Bohm, but Peterson regained his focus and blanked the Phillies over the next three frames before running out of steam in the fifth. He threw 54 of 78 pitches for strikes, but with five of the seven hits off him going for extra bases, Peterson's issue was command within the zone and not simply getting the ball over the plate. He'll get a chance for revenge against the Phillies in his next scheduled outing at home Monday.
