Justin Steele SP | CHC
Cubs' Justin Steele: Recalled by Cubs
Steele was recalled by the Cubs on Monday.
Steele is one of three relievers who joined the bullpen Monday, with three other pitchers heading to the COVID-19 injured list. The 25-year-old lefty has yet to throw an inning above Double-A, so he'll likely be limited to lower-leverage innings during his time with the team.

Kwang Hyun Kim SP | STL
Cardinals' Kwang Hyun Kim: Throws 86 pitches Sunday
Kim (back) threw 86 pitches in a simulated game at the Cardinals' alternate training site Sunday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Kim felt good after his large workload Sunday, and his throwing session was likely his last hurdle prior to making his season debut. Manager Mike Shildt didn't announce exactly which day Kim will return to game action, but the southpaw's 2021 debut appears to be imminent.

Miles Mikolas RP | WAS
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Throws bullpen Monday
Mikolas (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Monday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Mikolas was shut down in mid-March after experiencing shoulder soreness, but he's resumed mound work recently. The right-hander will likely require at least one more bullpen session before he's cleared to face hitters for the first time since the first week of spring training. While Mikolas' progress has been encouraging so far, it's still not clear when he could return to game action.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Cleared to return Tuesday
Gallen (forearm) will be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Tuesday against Oakland, Jody Jackson of FOX Sports Arizona reports.
Gallen appeared to be potentially in line for a long absence after suffering a hairline fracture in his forearm in late March. As it turns out, he'll only wind up missing two turns in the rotation. He threw 67 pitched in a simulated game Wednesday, so he'll probably be asked to throw somewhere around 80 to 85 pitches in Tuesday's contest.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Mets' Marcus Stroman: Starting Tuesday
Stroman will start Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Stroman only threw nine pitches in Sunday's start against the Marlins before the game was suspended due to inclement weather, but he was initially expected to wait until Friday to make his next start. However, the right-hander felt good while playing catch Monday and will take the mound for Tuesday's nightcap while Taijuan Walker starts Game 1. David Peterson was scheduled to start Monday's game but will now be pushed back to Wednesday.
-
Edward Cabrera SP | CHC
Marlins' Edward Cabrera: Throwing from 75 feet
Cabrera (biceps) has been throwing from 75 feet at the Marlins' alternate training site, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Cabrera had been shut down since mid-February due to an inflamed nerve in his biceps. It's not yet clear when Cabrera will be cleared to return to game action, but the right-hander should report to Triple-A Jacksonville when he's fully healthy.

David Peterson SP | CHC
Mets' David Peterson: Monday's contest called off
Peterson won't start against the Phillies on Monday since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Although Peterson won't be able to make his second start of the season Monday, he'll only have to wait until Wednesday before taking the mound again, DiComo reports. The southpaw took the loss in his season debut against Philadelphia, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five in four-plus innings.
-
Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Phillies' Chase Anderson: Monday's game postponed
Anderson won't start against the Mets on Monday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Monday's game will be made up as a doubleheader Tuesday, so Anderson could be in line to start one of the two games in the twin bill. The right-hander took the loss in his season debut against the Mets, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three in five innings.
-
Sixto Sanchez SP | MIA
Marlins' Sixto Sanchez: Throwing from 45 feet
Sanchez (shoulder) has been throwing from 45 feet at the Marlins' alternate training site, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Sanchez underwent an MRI in early April that revealed mild inflammation at the back of his right shoulder. The right-hander has resumed a throwing program, but the team figures to bring him along slowly given his history of injuries to begin his career. Nick Neidert will serve as the Marlins' fifth starter until Sanchez is fully healthy.
-
Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Stretched out to four innings
Carrasco (hamstring) is stretched out to four innings on the mound, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Carrasco is still considered week-to-week, but he's expected to fly to the team's alternate training site soon to begin fielding work. The right-hander could pitch five innings during a simulated game for his next throwing session. Carrasco was expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks after he was diagnosed with a torn right hamstring in mid-March, and he appears to be on the right track in his recovery process.
