Soroka is still wearing a protective boot following a second procedure on his Achilles tendon in late May, but he has resumed throwing exercises and the tendon itself is fully healed, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

The issue that caused him to undergo a second exploratory surgery turned out to be his body rejecting the sutures from the first procedure and didn't directly involve the Achilles tendon itself, which explains why Atlanta has become more optimistic about Soroka's chances of pitching this season. The right-hander hasn't put any kind of timetable on his recovery, which is understandable given his prior setbacks, but the boot should be removed next week and how soon he gets back on a mound will be determined by how quickly he can strengthen his calf. Soroka might yet play a part in Atlanta's push for a playoff spot down the stretch.

Lauer will start Sunday's game against the Rockies in Colorado, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Milwaukee is in the midst of a stretch of 16 games in 16 days, so Lauer will temporarily remain part of a six-man rotation as manager Craig Counsell looks to build in some extra rest for the team's top five starters. Lauer underwhelmed his last time out June 14 versus the Reds, giving up four runs on five hits and four walks over five innings to take his third loss of the season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect better results from the lefty this weekend at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Woodruff (5-3) allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings, taking the loss Thursday versus Colorado.

In a nightmarish first inning, the right-hander allowed four hits and a walk. Two of the hits were a grand slam by C.J. Cron and a solo home run by Garrett Hampson. This was Woodruff's worst start of the year -- the five runs allowed were a season high, and it was just the third time he didn't pitch into the sixth inning. He's still been excellent most of the year with a 1.94 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 102:19 K:BB across 88 innings. He'll look to get back on track next week in a favorable road start versus lowly Arizona.

Marquez (5-6) allowed one hit and three walks while striking out two over six scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday versus Milwaukee.

Marquez got plenty of help, as C.J. Cron hit a grand slam in the first inning and Colorado never looked back. The right-hander still took care of business on the mound with his fifth quality start in his last six outings. The lone outlier was a nine-run (eight earned) disaster versus Cincinnati last week. Marquez has a 4.26 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 82:39 K:BB across 82.1 innings this year. He lines up for a favorable road start in Seattle next week.

Miley allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five across seven innings in a no-decision versus San Diego on Thursday.

The two runs against the southpaw came on solo home runs by Fernando Tatis and Manny Machado. In 10 of his 12 starts this year, Miley has limited the opposition to two or fewer earned runs. He's posted a strong 2.88 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 56:19 K:BB across 68.2 innings. The southpaw lines up for a decent matchup next week on the road in Minnesota.

Gausman (8-1) allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six across eight innings to earn the win Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Gausman worked very efficiently and turned in his third start of the season that went at least eight innings. He continues to dominate his opponents, as he's now allowed only four earned runs across his last 36 innings of work. In addition to his eight wins, Gausman has also maintained a 1.51 ERA with a 103:19 K:BB across 89.2 frames on the campaign.

Gallen (1-2) allowed four earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three across 2.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Giants.

Gallen made his first start since May 7 after being sidelined by an elbow sprain. The outing didn't go as hoped, as he allowed three extra-base hits and was hit hard by the Giants throughout the short start. Positively, Gallen appears to have left the game healthy, so he should be able to continue to building up to his regular workload. Overall, he has a 3.99 ERA with a 35:15 K:BB across 29.1 innings on the season.

Musgrove allowed just four hits and three walks while striking out two over seven scoreless innings Thursday versus Cincinnati. He did not factor in the decision.

Musgrove and Cincinnati's Wade Miley engaged in a pitchers' duel for much of the game before the offenses came alive in the ninth inning. Despite allowing just six runs in his last 28 innings, Musgrove has not earned a win in any of his last five starts. He's maintained a 2.28 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 98:17 K:BB across 79 innings this season. The right-hander projects for his next start versus the Dodgers next week.

Morton (6-3) fired 7.2 scoreless innings and allowed three hits and zero walks while striking out seven to earn the win over the Cardinals on Thursday.

Morton had his best start of the season Thursday, as it was his first scoreless outing of the year. In addition, it was his deepest start and only the second time he didn't issue any walks. The 37-year-old has a 4.03 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with 82 strikeouts in 73.2 innings. His next start tentatively lines up for Tuesday against the Mets.

Hendricks (9-4) earned the win Thursday after holding the Mets scoreless across six innings. He allowed two hits and a pair of walks while striking out seven.

Hendricks turned in another quality start while blanking his opponent for the second time this year. The right-hander has been prone to home runs, allowing 19 overall, but was able to hold the Mets in check. Over his last seven starts, Hendricks has compiled a flawless 7-0 record, lowering his season ERA to 4.13 and WHIP to 1.30. The 31-year-old lines up to make his next start at home Tuesday against Cleveland.
