Stroman (6-5) was charged with the loss against the Cubs on Thursday despite allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out eight across seven innings.

Aside from serving up a two-run homer to Javier Baez in the first inning, Stroman turned in a brilliant performance against the Cubs, while tying a season-high with eight punchouts. Unfortunately, he was strapped with a tough loss after receiving zero run support. The right-hander, who has been the most consistent pitcher for the Mets thus far, has now tossed between six and seven frames in his last eight starts, with three or fewer runs allowed in seven of those outings. Stroman lines up to take the mound at home Tuesday against Atlanta.

Gray (elbow) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

Gray is slated to serve as the starter for Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, and he could rejoin the Rockies' rotation next weekend in Milwaukee if all goes well. The right-hander threw a bullpen session Thursday and has recently been working on the timing of his delivery.

Lorenzen (shoulder) is expected to return from the injured list after the All-Star break, which runs July 12-15, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The 29-year-old has been sidelined all season while recovering from a shoulder strain suffered late in spring training, and he won't see game action until the second half. Lorenzen has recently been throwing bullpen sessions and figures to require a rehab assignment before being activated. He was competing for a rotation spot in the spring, but he'll work as a reliever upon returning due to Cincinnati's severe bullpen struggles.

Muller will likely start one of the two games in Monday's doubleheader against the Mets, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Muller made his major-league debut Wednesday but was sent back to the minors Thursday after he allowed two runs on four hits in one inning. Although the team hasn't made an official announcement, the southpaw is the most likely option to take the mound as part of a twin bill Monday.

DeGrom's MRI on his right shoulder was examined by a second doctor who said he isn't concerned with the issue, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

DeGrom's MRI revealed no structural damage Thursday, and the team had the results examined by two doctors out of an abundance of caution. The Mets are hopeful that the right-hander won't require a trip to the injured list. He played light catch in the outfield ahead of Thursday's game against the Cubs, but manager Luis Rojas wouldn't yet commit to naming deGrom the starter for one of the games in Monday's doubleheader against Atlanta. The 32-year-old is considered day-to-day following his encouraging update.

Muller was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.

Muller spent just a single day on the active roster but did get the chance to make his major-league debut. His outing didn't go well, however, as he allowed two runs on four hits in a single inning of work. Jacob Webb was recalled in a corresponding move.

DeGrom (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Thursday that revealed no structural damage, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.

DeGrom is slated to receive a second opinion out of an abundance of caution, but his first visit with a doctor Thursday brought encouraging results. The 32-year-old exited Wednesday's win over the Cubs with right shoulder soreness, though he's remained confident the issue isn't serious. While the second opinion could help determine the extent of the issue, deGrom still tentatively lines up to start one of the two games in Monday's doubleheader against Atlanta, if he continues to receive positive news.

Teng returned from his suspension Wednesday. He allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out 10 over five innings in a no-decision versus High-A Hillsboro.

Teng was handed a 10-game suspension for using a foreign substance to doctor baseballs. He's now posted a 1-2 record, 4.74 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB across 24.2 innings with High-A Eugene.

Gallen (elbow) was activated off the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the Giants.

Gallen's season has been disrupted twice already, first by a hairline fracture in his forearm in late March and then by an elbow sprain in mid-May. He was only able to make five starts between the two injuries but recorded a strong 3.04 ERA, a number which exactly matched his FIP. He may not be asked to pitch particularly deep in Thursday's contest, as he threw just 46 pitches in his final simulated game Saturday.

Kershaw (8-6) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Phillies after allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk while fanning nine across six innings.

Kershaw had another strong outing and posted his ninth quality start of the campaign, but the offense didn't give him any kind of support and, as such, the star left-hander has now dropped three of his last four decisions. Kershaw now has a 3.50 ERA in three starts this month and will try to turn things around in his next outing, scheduled for next week on the road against the Padres.
