Alcantara (4-7) allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out three in 5.1 innings to take the loss against the Nationals on Sunday.

Alcantara gave up an unearned run in the top of the first inning Sunday but held the Nationals scoreless across the next four innings. However, he allowed a pair of home runs in the sixth inning to put him in line for his seventh loss of the year. Sunday's appearance snapped a streak of seven consecutive starts in which he had lasted at least six innings, and the right-hander has now been charged with four losses across his last eight outings. Alcantara tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Atlanta on Saturday.

Stroman (6-6) allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in three innings, taking the loss versus Philadelphia on Sunday.

Stroman left his previous start with hip soreness, and he wasn't able to pitch very deep into Sunday's contest. After the game, Mets managers Luis Rojas revealed that Stroman will be away from the team to due to his grandmother's death, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. While he hasn't officially been placed on the bereavement list, such a move could come in the next couple of days. Stroman is still expected to make his next scheduled start versus the Yankees, which tentatively lines up for Friday. The right-hander has a 2.44 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 78:24 K:BB across 88.2 innings.

Wheeler (6-4) earned the win over the Mets on Sunday. He allowed four hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven shutout innings.

After a short start versus the Nationals on Tuesday, Wheeler bounced back in a big way versus the NL East-leading Mets. Sunday was the third time in four starts the right-hander has kept runs off the board, and he's given up just three runs in 24 innings in that span. Wheeler sports a strong 2.20 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 130:25 K:BB across 106.1 innings this season. He lines up for a tough home start versus San Diego in next weekend's series.

Fried (finger) is in line to return from the 10-day injured list to start Wednesday's game against the Mets, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Assuming he makes it through a pre-start bullpen session without incident, Fried will come off the IL one day after the minimum, as Atlanta gave Charlie Morton some extra rest by skipping his turn in the rotation this weekend and having him start Tuesday's series opener instead. Fried was placed on the IL after developing a blister on his left index finger coming out of his most recent start June 18 versus St. Louis.

Mets manager Luis Rojas said Megill will start Tuesday's game in Atlanta, SportsNet New York reports.

Megill will face Atlanta for what will be his second straight turn through the rotation after he started in his big-league debut last Wednesday. He was serviceable if unspectacular in that outing, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings. Megill was initially expected to be one and done in the rotation, but he'll benefit from a second turn after Friday's doubleheader with the Phillies created a stretch of six games in five days. Assuming the Mets have no new injuries to the rotation or changes to the schedule during the upcoming week, Megill could be optioned to Triple-A following Tuesday's outing.

Webb (shoulder) is expected to join a minor-league affiliate for a rehab assignment this week, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

The right-hander threw 20 pitches in a simulated inning Sunday, clearing the way to embark on a rehab assignment. Webb has been on the injured list since June 3 with a strained right shoulder, so he'll likely require multiple outings in the minors to build up his arm before being activated.

Strasburg (neck) completed a 25-pitch bullpen session Sunday, Maria Torres of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander progressed from playing long toss and had no issues in his first bullpen session since landing on the injured list in early June. Strasburg will likely need another bullpen session or two before facing live hitters and eventually moving to a rehab assignment.

Muller was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Sunday's game at Cincinnati.

The left-hander served as the 27th man in Monday's doubleheader and allowed three runs over five innings during the first start of his MLB career, and he'll take the mound again in Sunday's series finale. Muller could receive a longer look in the rotation with another decent start, since the expected return of Max Fried (blister) from the injured list this week will still leave Atlanta without a fifth starter.

Stroman (hip) will start Sunday's game against the Phillies.

The right-hander exited his previous start Tuesday after one frame with soreness in his left hip, but he'll remain on a five-day schedule and pitch Sunday's series finale versus the Phillies. Prior to the injury-shortened outing, Stroman posted six straight quality starts with a 1.89 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 40:9 K:BB across 38 innings during that stretch.

Wood allowed two runs (one earned) in a 6-5 victory over Oakland on Saturday, surrendering four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings. He didn't factor into the decision.

Wood was dominant through the game's first five innings, only allowing on unearned as the result of two errors, but permitted two baserunners in the sixth before departing. It was Wood's first start allowing less than two earned runs in over a month and his ERA now sits at 3.91 after entering June at 2.44.
