Eflin (knee) didn't come out of Sunday's bullpen session as the Phillies hoped and won't rejoin the rotation this week, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander was in in consideration to return from the injured list during the back half of the week, but he's apparently still having some issues after Sunday's bullpen. Eflin landed on the shelf with right patella tendinitis after his last start July 16, and his absence will extend into early August, at least.

DeGrom (forearm) will throw another light side session Tuesday or Wednesday, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

DeGrom threw off a mound Sunday and felt good after playing catch Monday. While Manager Luis Rojas said after Sunday's mound session that he didn't know the right-hander's next step in his recovery, he'll throw off a mound at least once more before the team makes a decision. The Mets reportedly intend to have deGrom make a minor-league rehab start before he's activated from the IL, so he could be sidelined until sometime in early August.

Manager Luis Rojas said Monday that Carrasco (hamstring) has a "very real" chance to start Saturday or Sunday against the Reds, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander impressed during his rehab start at Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday when he allowed two hits and no walks while striking out six in three scoreless innings. Rojas said that Rich Hill will start Friday's series opener against Cincinnati, but Carrasco could be on track to make his team debut Saturday or Sunday following his lengthy rehab process. The 34-year-old would likely be on a pitch count if he returns this weekend since he hasn't lasted more than three innings in any of his rehab appearances.

Mets acting general manager Zack Scott said Monday that he's leaving the door open for Syndergaard (elbow) to return from the 60-day injured list as a reliever in the final month of the season, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Though Scott emphasized a decision hasn't been made regarding what Syndergaard's role will look like once activated, the 28-year-old doesn't appear to realistically have enough time to build up for a starter's workload as he makes his way back from Tommy John surgery. Syndergaard had been preparing to reclaim a spot in New York's rotation when he began a minor-league rehab assignment in mid-May, but he was shut down after two starts when he developed inflammation in his surgically repaired elbow. Syndergaard resumed playing catch earlier this month, but he likely won't get back on a mound until early August, and it could take about a month from that point before he's cleared to head back out on a rehab assignment. Fantasy managers can probably find a higher-upside injury returnee than Syndergaard on the waiver wire to stash in an open roster spot.

Gray worked five innings and didn't factor into the decision Sunday in the Rockies' 3-2 loss to the Dodgers. He gave up two runs on four hits and and three walks while striking out four.

Aside from allowing a pair of solo home runs to Chris Taylor, Gray otherwise quieted a typically potent Dodgers offense, albeit one that was without the services of Mookie Betts (hip), Cody Bellinger (hamstring), Max Muncy (paternity list) and Corey Seager (hand). Through 18 starts, Gray is sporting a 3.67 ERA, which matches the career-best ratio he posted in 2017. Sunday's outing may have been Gray's last with the Rockies, as the impending free agent is sure to be a popular target in trade talks leading up to Friday's deadline. If he isn't moved, the right-hander tentatively lines up to start the Rockies' game that day in San Diego.

Gray didn't factor into the decision Sunday in the Dodgers' 3-2 win over the Rockies after giving up two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out six across four innings.

Making his first start for the Dodgers after previously excelling as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen July 20 in his big-league debut, Gray didn't meet expectations for those who streamed him with the hope he would scoop up an easy win against a Rockies offense that typically struggles on the road. While the punchout total was nice and was backed by 19 swings and misses, Gray struggled to consistently find the zone, tossing just 47 of his 79 pitches for strikes. Elias Diaz also took Gray deep to left field in the second inning, a discouraging development after the right-hander served up three long balls in his prior outing. Gray should get at least one more expended appearance with the big club next weekend in Arizona, but manager Dave Roberts hasn't disclosed whether the rookie will be deployed as a primary pitcher or a traditional starter.

Mikolas (forearm) started and threw three perfect innings in Triple-A Memphis' win over Louisville on Saturday.

The recovering right-hander's first taste of game action since his only 2021 big-league start May 22 went off without a hitch. Mikolas logged 29 offerings overall, and he'll presumably look to build up to the 35-to-40-pitch range in his next turn with the Redbirds.

Woodruff dropped to 7-5 after he was on the wrong side of Sunday's 3-1 loss to the White Sox. He worked seven innings and gave up three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine in the series finale.

Woodruff has now gone winless in four consecutive starts, but his 3.24 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 over that stretch gives fantasy managers little reason to panic. He was simply outdueled Sunday by Lance Lynn, who tossed six innings of one-run ball before turning the game over to hard-throwing relievers Michael Kopech and Liam Hendriks for the final three frames. With Milwaukee expected to keep its six-man rotation intact until further notice, Woodruff is unlikely to make his next start until Aug. 1 in Atlanta.

The Mets list Walker (shoulder) as their probable starter for Thursday's series finale with Atlanta at Citi Field, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Walker experienced a pinch in his left shoulder during his start against the Blue Jays over the weekend, when he was tagged for a season-high six earned runs over four frames. The southpaw has now churned out two duds in a row to open the second half, but the Mets apparently aren't worried about his poor form of late or the shoulder issue, which could explain his recent struggles. Assuming his between-starts bullpen session goes as expected, Walker will be good to go on normal rest Thursday and shouldn't face any restrictions.

Wood (9-3) earned the win over the Pirates on Sunday after allowing a run on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over 5.1 innings.

Wood started off a little rocky after allowing the Pirates to get on the board first with back-to-back hits in the first inning. He shut them down the rest of the way, using his slider and sinker to strike out eight for the third time over his last five starts. After a rough past two seasons in which he was hindered by injuries, Wood has rediscovered his old form and has pitched to a respectable 3.65 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 102:30 K:BB over 93.2 innings. He's in line for a home start against the Astros his next time out.
